BenQ has launched the Board Pro RP05 in India, a new interactive display designed for AI-powered classrooms. Available in 65-inch, 75-inch, and 86-inch variants, the RP05 combines a dedicated 10 TOPS Neural Processing Unit (NPU), on-device generative AI tools, Android 15, and classroom-focused collaboration features. BenQ claims it is the most powerful AI-enabled interactive display currently available in India.
BenQ RP05 Specs and Features
The RP05 is powered by the MediaTek Genio 720 chipset paired with a dedicated 10 TOPS NPU, 16GB DDR5X RAM, and 256GB of onboard storage. According to BenQ, the onboard AI engine enables generative AI capabilities without requiring an active internet connection, allowing teachers to access AI-powered tools directly on the display.
BenQ has integrated several AI-powered education tools into the RP05. AI Lesson can generate lesson plans and teaching outlines, while AI Quiz automatically creates quizzes and practice questions. Ask AI provides a conversational interface for classroom queries, and Camera Gesture allows teachers to navigate presentations using hand gestures captured through the built-in camera. Lasso Search enables users to circle content on-screen to retrieve relevant information instantly.
The company's EZWrite 6.0 whiteboard platform also receives AI enhancements, including EZMath for converting handwritten equations into digital content, support for translations across 59 languages, and AI Text-to-Speech functionality. Wireless screen sharing is handled through InstaShare 2, which includes AI Guardian to detect and block inappropriate content before it appears on the display.
Hardware, Connectivity, and Classroom Features
The RP05 features a 70W audio system comprising dual 25W speakers and a 20W subwoofer, along with an eight-microphone array and support for up to 50 simultaneous touch points. Connectivity options include USB-C 3.0 with 100W Power Delivery, HDMI 2.0 ports, and Duo Screen support for extending content to a secondary display.
For classroom environments, BenQ has included its ClassroomCare suite with Eyesafe 3.0 certification, germ-resistant coatings certified by TÜV and SIAA, and an integrated air-quality sensor capable of monitoring CO2, PM2.5, and TVOC levels in real time. The display is Google EDLA certified and runs Android 15. BenQ says Google Play Protect continuously scans installed applications for malware, while administrators gain granular control over camera, microphone, and file permissions. Institutions can also remotely manage devices, deploy firmware updates, and monitor usage through BenQ's Device Management System.
BenQ Targets the Next Phase of AI-Enabled Classrooms
The BenQ Board Pro RP05 will be available in India from June 25, 2026, in 65-inch (RP6505), 75-inch (RP7505), and 86-inch (RP8605) variants. Pricing starts at Rs. 2,00,000 (inclusive of taxes).
With the RP05, BenQ is betting on the growing adoption of AI-assisted learning tools in Indian classrooms. While interactive displays have become increasingly common in schools and higher education institutions, BenQ's focus on on-device generative AI, gesture-based controls, and integrated lesson-planning tools aims to reduce reliance on external software platforms and cloud services. The combination of dedicated AI hardware, classroom management tools, and health-focused features positions the RP05 as a premium offering for institutions looking to modernise teaching environments.
