Colorful has expanded its laptop portfolio with the launch of the Rimbook L1 Plus, a lightweight productivity laptop aimed at students, professionals and content creators.

At the heart of the Rimbook L1 Plus is AMD's Ryzen 7 7735HS processor, featuring 8 cores, 16 threads and boost speeds of up to 4.75GHz. It is paired with integrated AMD Radeon 680M Graphics, 16GB LPDDR5-6400 RAM, and a 512GB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD, offering enough horsepower for multitasking, productivity, content creation and everyday entertainment. The laptop also includes dual PCIe Gen4 M.2 SSD slots, allowing users to expand storage in the future.
Despite packing high-performance hardware, the Rimbook L1 Plus maintains a slim profile. The laptop weighs just 1.4kg and measures 16.65mm thin, while featuring a matte metal top cover that gives it a more premium look and feel. Colorful says the design is aimed at users who need a portable laptop for work, college or travel without compromising on performance.
One of the biggest highlights of the Rimbook L1 Plus is its 16-inch IPS display with a 2560 x 1600 (2.5K) resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio, giving users more vertical workspace compared to traditional 16:9 laptops. The panel also offers a 120Hz refresh rate, 100% sRGB colour gamut, 300 nits brightness, and a 92.52% screen-to-body ratio, making it suitable for everything from office work to photo editing and video creation.
The laptop ships with WPS Office pre-installed, allowing users to start working immediately without installing additional office software. Colorful says this makes the Rimbook L1 Plus a practical option for students and professionals who need productivity tools right out of the box.
The Rimbook L1 Plus packs a 65Wh battery and supports 65W USB Type-C Power Delivery charging, reducing the need to carry a proprietary charger. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, while the laptop runs Windows 11 Home out of the box.
Price and Availability
The Colorful Rimbook L1 Plus is available in a Silver colour option at cost of RMB 5,999 which is around Rs 85,000 but the company has not announced India pricing or availability.
While Colorful is better known for its graphics cards and gaming hardware, the Rimbook L1 Plus shows the company is serious about expanding into the mainstream laptop segment. Instead of chasing flashy gaming features, it focuses on a balanced package with a capable Ryzen 7 processor, a sharp 2.5K 120Hz display, plenty of memory and a lightweight design. If the company can bring it to India at an aggressive price, it could emerge as an interesting alternative to popular offerings from ASUS, Acer, Lenovo and MSI in the premium mid-range laptop segment.
