Infinix HOT 70 Pro Launched in India With Active Matrix Cube, Starting at Rs 22,999

The new HOT series smartphone brings a 144Hz display, Dimensity 7100 5G chipset, 50MP Sony camera and IP68 protection.

Infinix has launched the HOT 70 Pro in India, with the smartphone's biggest highlight being the new Active Matrix Cube (AMC) on the rear panel. The feature adds interactive notifications, visual effects and mini-games to the back of the phone. The HOT 70 Pro also focuses on display smoothness, camera performance and durability.

Infinix Hot 70 Pro Specifications And Features

The Active Matrix Cube is designed to offer more than notification alerts. It can display visual effects for incoming calls, messages, charging, low battery, camera, video, countdown and weather, even when the phone is placed face down.

The rear panel also supports interactive mini-games such as Lucky Wheel and Lucky Numbers. Users can create personalised patterns and emojis through Matrix Studio, with the option to share their creations with another HOT 70 Pro.  Thermo Orange uses a thermochromic finish that changes colour with temperature, while Mirage Green reacts to UV light and glows in the dark.

Silk Glow Purple has a texture that changes depending on the viewing angle, while Dive Blue gets a matte finish. The phone measures up to 7.85mm in thickness. The smartphone features a 6.76-inch FHD+ punch-hole display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It supports 240Hz touch sampling and up to 910 nits of HBM brightness.

The display also offers a screen-to-body ratio of up to 91.86%. Powering the HOT 70 Pro is the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G chipset, paired with a Mali-G57 GPU. Infinix says the phone can support gaming at up to 90fps in popular games. It also uses UFS 2.2 storage.

For photography, the HOT 70 Pro gets a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary camera. The camera supports AI Live Photo and AI Eraser, with the latter allowing users to remove unwanted elements from images.

The smartphone also features an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Other camera features include 2X lossless zoom, AI Extender and a one-tap Vlog Mode. The HOT 70 Pro packs a 6000mAh battery with 45W FastCharge support. The phone can reach 50% charge in approximately 25 minutes and a full charge in around 63 minutes under the company's stated testing conditions.

It also supports Super Fast Charging and Smart Charging modes, along with reverse charging of up to 10W. The HOT 70 Pro is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance, which Infinix says is a first for its HOT series and smartphone portfolio. The device can withstand up to 2 metres of fresh water for 30 minutes.

On the software front, the phone runs XOS 16 based on Android 16. Infinix promises three years of OS upgrades and five years of security patches. The phone also gets NFC and a dedicated One-Tap AI Button, which can be assigned to more than 50 apps or Gemini.

Infinix HOT 70 Pro Price and Availability in India

The Infinix HOT 70 Pro starts at Rs 22,999 under the Day 1 offer, inclusive of applicable bank offers. The smartphone comes in 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB configurations.

It will be available in Silk Glow Purple, Dive Blue, Thermo Orange and Mirage Green. The HOT 70 Pro goes on sale from September 7 at 12 PM via Flipkart and retail stores across India. No-cost EMI options will be available for three, six and nine months.

The Active Matrix Cube gives the HOT 70 Pro a distinct identity in a segment where most smartphones tend to compete mainly on specifications. Whether the rear display and interactive features become genuinely useful or remain a novelty will depend on how Infinix integrates them into everyday use.

Beyond the design, the phone has a fairly strong hardware package for its segment, with a 144Hz display, Dimensity 7100 5G chipset, 6000mAh battery, 50MP Sony camera and IP68 protection.

At Rs 22,999 with the Day 1 offer, the HOT 70 Pro looks like an interesting option for buyers who want something different without giving up the core smartphone features.
