Motorola has officially confirmed the India launch date for the Motorola Razr Fold after teasing the foldable smartphone earlier this week. The company announced on Thursday that the book-style foldable device will launch in India on May 13. The smartphone will be available for purchase through Flipkart, the Motorola India website, and select offline retail stores across the country.
The Motorola Razr Fold was first unveiled globally during MWC 2026 in March and is already available in several international markets. The device represents Motorola's latest push into the premium foldable smartphone segment, combining flagship-grade hardware with a large foldable display and high-end camera setup.
Motorola shared the launch confirmation through its official X account while also revealing several key details about the Indian variants. The Razr Fold will launch in Pantone Blackened Blue and Pantone Lily White colour options. Buyers will be able to choose between 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and 16GB RAM with 512GB storage configurations.
The company also confirmed that it will introduce a special FIFA World Cup 26 Edition of the smartphone in India. This limited-edition variant will feature football-inspired design elements and custom styling aimed at football fans.
Motorola Razr Fold Specifications
One of the biggest highlights of the Motorola Razr Fold is its display setup. The foldable smartphone features a large 8.1-inch inner LTPO pOLED display with 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Motorola has also included a 6.6-inch LTPO pOLED cover display with a faster 165Hz refresh rate and peak brightness reaching 6,000 nits. The outer screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3, while the foldable inner display uses Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) protection.
Powering the Motorola Razr Fold is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage globally. The Indian variants, however, are currently confirmed up to 512GB storage.
Motorola is also positioning the Razr Fold as a camera-focused foldable phone. The rear camera setup includes three 50-megapixel sensors. The primary camera uses a large 1/1.28-inch Sony LYTIA sensor, accompanied by a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.
For selfies and video calls, the smartphone includes a 32-megapixel front camera on the cover screen and an additional 20-megapixel selfie camera inside the foldable display.
The device runs Android 16-based My UX software and includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. Motorola has also provided IP49-rated dust and water resistance, adding a layer of durability to the foldable device.
Battery capacity is another major highlight. The Motorola Razr Fold packs a large 6,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. These specifications place it among the more aggressively equipped foldable smartphones currently available.
Motorola Razr Fold Expected Pricing
Globally, the Motorola Razr Fold was launched at EUR 1,999 (roughly Rs. 2.14 lakh). Motorola has not yet announced official India pricing, but more details are expected during the launch event on May 13.
