OPPO Find X9s, Find X9 Ultra India Launch Set for May 21: Specifications, Expected Pricing, and More

OPPO has confirmed that the OPPO Find X9s and OPPO Find X9 Ultra will launch in India on May 21, expanding the company's flagship Find X9 lineup in the country. The launch is significant for OPPO because the Find X9 Ultra will become its first Ultra-branded smartphone to officially arrive in India, placing the company directly into the ultra-premium flagship segment.

With this move, OPPO will compete more aggressively against devices like the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, Vivo X300 Ultra, and Xiaomi 17 Ultra. All of these phones focus heavily on camera hardware, zoom capabilities, and advanced video features – an area where OPPO is clearly positioning the Find X9 Ultra.

At the same time, the Find X9s targets a slightly different audience. Instead of focusing entirely on extreme camera hardware, it aims to offer flagship-level performance and imaging in a slimmer and more manageable form factor.

Availability and Expected Pricing

The Find X9s and Find X9 Ultra were first introduced globally in April alongside the compact Find X9s Pro. In India, both phones will join the existing OPPO Find X9 and Find X9 Pro lineup.

The devices will be available through Amazon, Flipkart, and OPPO's online store. For reference, the Find X9 launched in India at Rs 74,999, while the Find X9 Pro debuted at Rs 1,09,999.

The Find X9 Ultra is expected to sit above both models in terms of pricing and positioning. Given its camera hardware – especially the dedicated 10x optical telephoto system – it is likely to enter the Rs 1.30 lakh premium flagship segment. Meanwhile, leaks suggest the Find X9s could launch at around Rs 70,000, placing it closer to the standard Find X9.

OPPO Find X9 Ultra: Expected Specifications

The Find X9 Ultra is clearly built around photography and video. It features a quad-camera setup that includes a 200MP main camera, a 200MP 3x telephoto lens, and a 50MP 10x optical telephoto camera with a 230mm equivalent focal length.

Unlike many smartphones that rely heavily on digital cropping at higher zoom levels, OPPO is focusing more on dedicated optical hardware. This could make the device particularly appealing for long-range photography and video capture.

The phone also introduces OPPO's new Hasselblad Master Camera System with the LUMO Image Engine. Video features include support for 8K recording at 30fps and 4K recording at 120fps.

Under the hood, the Find X9 Ultra runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset paired with OPPO's Trinity Engine and a new 3D Cryo-velocity cooling system. It also packs a large 7,050mAh silicon-carbon battery.

OPPO is also targeting creators more directly this year. Features such as O-Log2 recording, ACES workflows, and custom LUT support are closer to professional camera workflows than standard smartphone features.

OPPO Find X9s: Expected Specifications

Compared to the Ultra, the Find X9s appears more focused on balance and practicality. The OPPO Find X9s features a 6.59-inch flat AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision support, 3840Hz PWM dimming, and peak brightness of up to 3600 nits. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. OPPO has also included a large vapour chamber cooling system for improved thermal performance during gaming and heavy usage.

For photography, the Find X9s includes a Hasselblad-tuned triple 50MP rear camera setup consisting of a primary sensor with OIS, an ultra-wide camera, and a 3x periscope telephoto lens with OIS. On the front, the phone features a 32MP selfie camera supported by OPPO's LUMO Image Engine.

Additional features include stereo speakers, USB Type-C audio, IP66/IP68/IP69 ratings, infrared support, and a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone weighs 202g.

What to Expect From the Find X9 Lineup

With the addition of the X9s and X9 Ultra, OPPO's flagship lineup now covers multiple segments more clearly. The standard Find X9 remains the mainstream premium flagship, the X9 Pro focuses on premium hardware, the X9s offers a more compact flagship experience, and the X9 Ultra becomes the company's most camera-focused smartphone yet.

For buyers, the decision will likely depend on how much importance they place on smartphone photography. The Ultra is designed for users who regularly shoot travel videos, concerts, sports, or professional-style content, while the X9s appears more suited for everyday flagship users who still want strong cameras and battery life without the bulk of an Ultra device.
