OPPO is preparing to launch the Reno 16 series in India, bringing two new smartphones aimed at the premium mid-range segment. The company has already confirmed the arrival of the Reno 16 lineup through a dedicated microsite and Amazon listing, while recent leaks have shed light on the expected specifications, features, and pricing of the upcoming devices.
According to information shared by tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Indian lineup is expected to include the OPPO Reno 16 5G and the OPPO Reno 16c 5G. Both devices are expected to focus on photography, battery life, and AI-powered features, while also introducing several durability upgrades.
Oppo Reno 16 Series: Expected Specifications
The OPPO Reno 16 5G is tipped to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. The device is expected to pack a large 6,700mAh silicon-carbon battery, a significant upgrade over many smartphones in the segment.
For photography, the Reno 16 is rumored to feature a triple 50-megapixel rear camera setup alongside a 50-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone is also confirmed to feature a compact 6.32-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The Reno 16c 5G could arrive with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300-Energy chipset and an even larger 7,000mAh battery. The device is expected to offer a more versatile camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 50-megapixel selfie camera.
Unlike the standard model, the Reno 16c is tipped to feature a larger 6.57-inch AMOLED display, while retaining the same 120Hz refresh rate.
Both smartphones are expected to launch with 8GB RAM, support for an additional 8GB of virtual RAM expansion, and 256GB of internal storage.
OPPO has also confirmed several software and hardware features, including the new AI Snap Key, Mind Space integration, and durability certifications, including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.
The phones are expected to launch in Starry White, Twilight Violet, and Stellar Purple colour options.
Oppo Reno 16 Series: Expected Pricing
One of the biggest talking points surrounding the Reno 16 series is its rumored pricing.
According to the leak, the OPPO Reno 16 5G could launch at Rs 59,999, while the Reno 16c 5G may be priced at Rs 49,999.
If those figures prove accurate, they would represent a significant increase over the previous generation. For comparison, the Reno 15 launched at Rs 45,999, while the Reno 15c debuted at Rs 34,999.
The price increase suggests OPPO may be repositioning the Reno series further into the premium segment. The company appears to be banking on larger batteries, upgraded camera systems, improved durability, and AI features to justify the higher pricing.
However, buyers may closely examine whether those upgrades are enough to warrant the jump. The Reno 16 retains the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset used in its predecessor, which could lead some consumers to question the overall value proposition.
At the rumored prices, the Reno 16 series would compete directly with devices such as the OnePlus 15R, Vivo V70 series, and other upper mid-range smartphones that offer flagship-level features and performance.
With the official launch expected soon, prospective buyers may want to wait for final pricing, detailed specifications, and real-world reviews before making a purchase decision.
