Samsung’s next Fan Edition smartphone is already shaping up to be one of the company’s most important Android releases in years. Newly leaked information surrounding the Galaxy S26 FE suggests Samsung may finally be giving the FE lineup the premium treatment fans have been requesting for generations.
The Galaxy S26 FE is expected to sit between Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S26 series and its more affordable mid-range phones, continuing the Fan Edition strategy of offering flagship-inspired features at a lower price point. However, this year’s leak suggests Samsung may be making bigger design improvements than expected, potentially helping the device feel less like a “budget flagship” and more like a true premium Galaxy phone.
The listing, first spotted by 9to5Google, carries the model number SM-S741, which has previously appeared on several certification platforms and is widely believed to belong to the Galaxy S26 FE.
According to leaked renders from the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), the Galaxy S26 FE could adopt a much cleaner, more refined design language directly inspired by the standard Galaxy S26 lineup. The phone is rumored to feature slimmer bezels, flatter edges, improved symmetry around the display, and a more premium-looking frame.
That may sound cosmetic, but it addresses one of the biggest complaints surrounding previous FE devices. While earlier Fan Edition models often delivered strong specifications for the price, many users felt they looked and felt noticeably cheaper than Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S phones.
Samsung may finally be fixing the FE lineup’s biggest weakness
The FE series has historically been a balancing act. Samsung tries to deliver flagship-style performance while strategically cutting costs in areas like cameras, materials, processors, and charging speeds. The formula worked particularly well with the Galaxy S20 FE, but later models struggled to maintain the same excitement.
Leaks suggest the Galaxy S26 FE could mark a reset for the series. Reports indicate Samsung may continue making internal compromises to keep pricing competitive, including the possibility of different chipsets depending on region. Camera hardware may also remain slightly below the standard Galaxy S26 models. However, the key difference this year appears to be design consistency.
The Galaxy S26 FE reportedly looks much closer to Samsung’s premium flagship lineup rather than resembling a cheaper alternative. That matters because smartphone buyers increasingly prioritize everyday experience, ergonomics, and premium feel over raw specifications alone.
Samsung also faces growing pressure from competitors like Google, OnePlus, Xiaomi, and Nothing, all of which are pushing increasingly polished mid-premium smartphones. Consumers now expect devices under flagship pricing to still look and feel expensive.
If Samsung successfully combines strong performance, long-term software support, and premium hardware design, the Galaxy S26 FE could become one of the company’s most appealing mainstream Android phones.
Samsung Galaxy S26 FE Expected Specifications
According to the certification details, the handset supports a “maximum load power” of 5W and carries Qi2 certification, suggesting compatibility with faster and more efficient wireless charging standards similar to its predecessor.
The WPC listing also includes a real-world image of the device, revealing a design that closely resembles the standard Galaxy S26 launched earlier this year. The Galaxy S26 FE appears to feature a flat aluminium frame, rounded corners, and vertically aligned rear cameras. However, unlike previous FE models, Samsung may adopt a raised camera island design similar to the flagship Galaxy S26 lineup.
The rear panel also shows Samsung branding, while the power and volume buttons appear positioned on the right edge of the phone. Earlier third-party case renders had hinted at a nearly identical design language.
While specifications remain unconfirmed, the Galaxy S26 FE was previously spotted on Geekbench with Samsung’s Exynos 2600 chipset, 12GB RAM, and Android 17.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 FE in September 2025, so the Galaxy S26 FE is expected to follow a similar launch timeline later this year, possibly alongside the Galaxy Tab S12 series.
