Vivo NEXT 2026: V80, X Fold6 and S2 FE Launched in India; MR Headset Previewed

Vivo has launched the V80, X Fold6 and S2 FE in India at its NEXT 2026 event, alongside the introduction of OriginOS 7 and a preview of the Vivo Vision Discovery Edition mixed-reality headset. The announcements span camera-focused smartphones, foldable productivity and battery endurance, giving the company several distinct propositions ahead of the festive shopping season.

The broader message is a push to compete on software and connected experiences as well as smartphone hardware. The headset adds a new category to that presentation, although it is being offered for in-store demonstrations rather than a confirmed retail launch.

Selected launch offers include a 10% bank discount on the V80 online and Rs 26,400 instant cashback on the X Fold6 through selected banks. The S2 FE has offers including up to 10% cashback through eligible offline channels. Bank, exchange and financing options vary by channel and should not be assumed to combine.

V80 Puts Cameras and Video Ahead of a Performance-First Pitch

The V80 features a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, a 144Hz 1.5K OLED display and a 7,200mAh battery with 90W charging. Its camera features include a 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, 4K 60fps recording and a Cinematic Video mode with three visual styles. The phone ships with OriginOS 7, and Vivo promises six years of security updates.

At Rs 62,999, the purchasing argument needs to extend beyond a long feature list. The telephoto camera and video tools are more relevant to someone who regularly shoots people, travel or social content than to a buyer whose priority is gaming performance. Camera consistency and the usefulness of the editing tools will therefore be central to assessing its value.

X Fold6 Makes Multitasking Central to Its Premium

The X Fold6 combines an 8.02-inch main display with a Dimensity 9500 Super Edition processor, a 200MP ZEISS main camera and a 6,900mAh battery. At Rs 2,19,999, it sits firmly in the premium foldable segment.

Its more consequential addition is Origin Workbench. Vivo says this allows a main task to sit alongside up to four supporting apps, while AI Cross-App Drag helps move information between compatible applications. One example is extracting text from an image and dragging it into another app for translation.

This gives the larger screen a purpose beyond watching videos. For someone reviewing documents while consulting messages or reference material, reducing repeated app switching could be useful. The purchase still depends on whether their everyday apps work comfortably in that layout; a larger canvas alone does not guarantee a better workflow.

S2 FE Leads With a 10,000mAh Battery

The S2 FE takes a different approach, pairing a 10,000mAh battery with a Dimensity 7300e processor and a 120Hz 1.5K AMOLED display. It also includes a 50MP Sony main camera, a 32MP front camera and IP68/IP69 ratings.

Its positioning is straightforward: endurance for buyers who spend long periods away from a charger. At Rs 38,999, however, battery capacity will need to be weighed against camera quality, performance and handling rather than treated as a complete measure of value.

There is also a software distinction within the new lineup. The S2 FE launches with Android 16-based OriginOS 6, even though OriginOS 7 was introduced at the same event.

OriginOS 7 Gives Vivo a Broader Software Story

OriginOS 7 adds the Jovi AI agent, Snap Note, AI Recorder and AI Search, alongside multitasking and cross-device tools. Snap Note can turn photographed notes or whiteboards into editable documents, while AI Recorder offers transcription and summaries.

Office Kit adds functions such as file transfers, task handoff and camera sharing across compatible devices. These features make software a more substantial part of Vivo's premium pitch, particularly for buyers who move between a phone and computer during the day.

Feature availability will vary by model and region. Vivo specifically limits Origin Workbench to selected models with at least 12GB RAM, so buyers should not assume that every phone running OriginOS 7 gets the foldable's multitasking capabilities.

Vivo Vision Is an Experience Preview, Not Yet a Purchase Option

The Vision Discovery Edition headset weighs 398g and uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform with dual micro-OLED displays. Eye and hand tracking enable navigation, with demonstrations covering virtual cinema, immersive environments and mixed-reality games.

Vivo has established experience zones at 15 exclusive stores across 10 Indian cities, with registration available through its newsroom. No India retail price or sale date has been announced.

The preview helps Vivo present itself as a company exploring devices beyond smartphones. Its commercial significance will depend on the eventual software catalogue, pricing and availability, rather than the demonstration alone.

vivo’s Festive Upgrade Decisions

The lineup gives buyers a clearer starting point: the V80 for its camera and video proposition, the X Fold6 for large-screen multitasking, and the S2 FE for battery endurance. These are distinct priorities, and the higher-priced model is not automatically the more suitable purchase.

The event also illustrates how premium positioning now encompasses the tasks a device can handle across apps and screens. For Vivo, the next test is delivering those experiences consistently. For buyers, checking the features available on the exact model matters more than treating every NEXT 2026 announcement as a shared benefit across the range.
