Vivo X300 Ultra And X300 FE India Launch Set For May 6

Vivo has confirmed that the X300 Ultra will launch in India on May 6 at 12 noon, with teasers now live across its official channels. The smartphone was first introduced in China in late March, and its arrival in India had already been hinted at. The company has now locked in the date.

Alongside the Ultra model, Vivo has also confirmed that the X300 FE will debut on the same day. This gives the brand a broader lineup across price segments, with the Ultra positioned as the flagship offering.

Vivo X300 Ultra Specifications

The Vivo X300 Ultra stands out for its camera system. It features a dual 200MP setup, combining a primary sensor with a periscope telephoto lens. This setup supports 3.7x optical zoom and up to 105x digital zoom.

Vivo is also offering support for external Zeiss telephoto lenses, including 200mm and 400mm options. These attach via a dedicated case, turning the device into something closer to a compact camera system. The company previously showcased this setup at MWC, highlighting its focus on photography.

In addition to the main sensors, the device includes a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP front-facing camera, completing the overall camera package.

Beyond cameras, the X300 Ultra includes expected flagship-level specifications. It features a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, offering smooth visuals and high brightness levels.

The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and is backed by a 7,000mAh battery. It supports 100W wired charging and 40W wireless charging, aiming to deliver long battery life with fast top-ups.

In terms of design, Vivo continues with its familiar approach. The phone features a large circular camera module on the rear and a flat-edged frame. Globally, it has been shown in colour options such as green, silver, and black.

Pricing And Positioning

In China, the Vivo X300 Ultra starts at CNY 6,999, which is roughly ₹96,000. In India, it is expected to be priced above ₹1 lakh. This places it in direct competition with premium flagship devices like Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra, Xiaomi's top-end Ultra model, and Apple's iPhone 17 Pro Max.

At this price point, most flagship smartphones already offer strong performance, displays, and battery life. Vivo is attempting to differentiate the X300 Ultra through its camera system, particularly its zoom capabilities.

What To Expect

The addition of external lenses is a standout feature, although it may not appeal to all users. For most buyers, standard camera performance will remain the primary consideration. However, for users who prioritise photography, especially long-range zoom, the X300 Ultra offers something different from typical flagship smartphones.

The device is set to go on sale via Amazon, Flipkart, and Vivo's official online store. With the official launch approaching, more details around pricing and availability are expected to be confirmed soon.
