Acer has launched the new Acer Iconia 5G tablet series in India, expanding its Android tablet portfolio with a focus on productivity, entertainment, and creative workloads. The tablet is aimed at professionals, students, and creators looking for a large-screen Android device with bundled productivity-focused features in the sub-Rs. 30,000 segment.
Acer Iconia iM11 Specifications and Features
The Acer Iconia iM11 is powered by the MediaTek MT8791 chipset featuring 2x Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.4GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 cores running at up to 2.0GHz. Acer says the processor also includes a dedicated AI Processing Unit capable of delivering up to 2.6 TOPS for edge AI applications and on-device AI experiences.
The tablet runs Android 15 and packs 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage. Storage expansion is supported via a microSD card up to 1TB. Acer specifically mentions expandable DDR5 memory support in the press release. On the front, the device features an 11.45-inch 2.2K IPS display with 1440×2200 resolution and up to 450 nits brightness. The in-cell touch panel is designed to improve touch responsiveness while also supporting precise stylus input for note-taking, sketching, and digital artwork.
For connectivity, the device supports 5G and 4G LTE networks, along with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 for faster wireless performance and stable connectivity. It also includes GPS support for navigation and location-based features.
For optics, the tablet includes:
- 8MP front camera
- 16MP rear camera
- 2MP macro sensor
A fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button handles biometric authentication.
Productivity Features Take Center Stage
Acer is positioning the Iconia iM11 as more than just a media consumption tablet. The device supports an active stylus with 4096 pressure sensitivity levels alongside a dedicated keyboard cover connected through POGO pins.
The company says these accessories are intended to improve writing, editing, multitasking, and creative workflows. However, Acer has not confirmed whether the stylus and keyboard are bundled with all variants or sold separately, which could significantly impact the overall value proposition. Stereo speakers are included for multimedia consumption, while the tablet is backed by a 7400mAh battery with PD fast charging support up to 9V/2A. Additional onboard sensors include a gyro, compass, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and G-sensor.
Acer Iconia iM11 Price in India and Competition
The Acer Iconia iM11 price in India starts at Rs. 25,499. The tablet will be available through Acer exclusive stores, the Acer online store, Amazon, and Flipkart. At Rs. 25,499, the Acer Iconia iM11 enters a highly competitive Android tablet segment currently dominated by options such as the OnePlus Pad Go 2, Redmi Pad 2 Pro, and Realme Pad 3.
The biggest differentiators for Acer appear to be the inclusion of 5G connectivity and stylus support in a relatively accessible price bracket. Most competing tablets either skip 5G entirely or reserve stylus functionality for higher-priced variants and accessory bundles. That said, the MediaTek MT8791 is not positioned as a flagship-tier chipset, so the tablet may be better suited for productivity, streaming, note-taking, and casual multitasking rather than heavy gaming or advanced video editing workloads. The Acer Iconia iM11 looks like a practical addition to the mid-range Android tablet market, especially for users looking for a large display, 5G connectivity, and stylus support without stretching beyond the Rs. 30,000 mark. The overall package appears balanced on paper, though accessory pricing and real-world performance will ultimately decide how well it competes against more established rivals in the segment.
