Hisense is expanding its Mini-LED TV portfolio in India, but the more interesting story is where the company has chosen to sell its latest televisions.
After launching the U7SE series through offline retail channels earlier this year, Hisense has introduced the new E8S 144Hz ULED Mini-LED TV lineup exclusively through Amazon and Flipkart, starting at Rs. 57,990. The move highlights a growing shift in India's premium television market, where an increasing number of buyers are comfortable spending Rs. 50,000 and above without ever stepping into a retail store.
Hisense Is Targeting Online-First Premium TV Buyers
The E8S series is designed for what Hisense calls "digitally savvy consumers" seeking premium entertainment experiences online. While premium TVs traditionally relied on showroom demonstrations to justify their price tags, e-commerce has increasingly become a preferred channel for technology enthusiasts who already know what specifications they want before making a purchase. By launching exclusively on Amazon and Flipkart, Hisense is betting that features such as Mini-LED backlighting, a 144Hz refresh rate, AI-powered picture processing, and premium audio are becoming familiar enough for consumers to buy based on specifications and reviews alone.
Gaming Continues to Shape the Premium TV Market
One of the biggest highlights of the E8S is its native 144Hz refresh rate, a feature once reserved almost entirely for gaming monitors. As PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and high-performance PC gaming continue to grow in India, television brands are increasingly treating gamers as a core audience rather than a niche segment. Hisense is positioning the E8S as a display capable of handling both cinematic content and high-refresh-rate gaming, reflecting a broader trend where consumers expect a single screen to serve entertainment, streaming, and gaming needs.
Mini-LED Is Becoming the New Battleground
The E8S arrives with ULED Mini-LED technology, Full Array Local Dimming, Hi-QLED Colour, Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+ Adaptive, and Filmmaker Mode support. While these features improve picture quality, they also signal a larger industry shift.
For years, OLED dominated conversations around premium televisions. Now, brands including Hisense, TCL, Samsung, and others are increasingly using Mini-LED technology to offer premium brightness, contrast, and gaming performance at more accessible prices. At Rs. 57,990, Hisense appears to be positioning Mini-LED as something that can move beyond flagship buyers and into the upper mid-range segment.
Audio Remains a Differentiator
Another notable addition is the built-in Devialet-tuned subwoofer. Television manufacturers have traditionally focused on display technology while assuming buyers would eventually purchase a separate soundbar.
Hisense is taking a different approach by promoting premium audio as part of the package. For consumers buying online, an integrated solution can often be more appealing than planning additional audio upgrades later. The E8S is not just another television launch. It reflects three trends shaping the Indian premium TV market in 2026: the rise of online-first premium electronics purchases, the growing influence of gaming specifications on television buying decisions, and the increasing adoption of Mini-LED technology as an alternative to more expensive display technologies.
Hisense already strengthened its local ambitions by opening its manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh earlier this year and continues to build visibility through its FIFA World Cup 2026 sponsorship. With the E8S, the company is now trying to convince Indian buyers that premium television experiences no longer need a showroom demonstration. Sometimes a strong specification sheet, competitive pricing, and a Prime delivery notification are enough.
