Sony has expanded its premium television portfolio in India with the launch of the new BRAVIA 9II and BRAVIA 7II True RGB TVs. The lineup introduces Sony's new RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro technology that independently controls red, green, and blue LEDs for improved colour accuracy, higher brightness, deeper blacks, and wider viewing angles. The BRAVIA 9II starts at Rs 5,39,990, while the BRAVIA 7II starts at Rs 2,21,990. Both models are available through Sony Centres, ShopatSC.com, leading electronics retailers, and major e-commerce platforms.
Sony BRAVIA 9II, BRAVIA 7II Specifications And Features
The new BRAVIA lineup is powered by Sony's Advanced AI Cognitive Processor XR, which analyses scenes in real time to optimise colour, contrast, and brightness while preserving the creator's original intent. The TVs also feature RGB Triluminos Max, XR Contrast Booster, X-Wide Angle Pro, Acoustic Multi-Audio+, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced support, Google TV, and future Gemini integration via an OTA update. Sony Pictures Core with 10 movie credits, My Cinema mode, Ambient Optimization, Studio Calibrated modes, and a rechargeable USB-C Premium Remote are also included.
Pricing and Availability
The flagship BRAVIA 9II is priced at Rs 5,39,990 for the 75-inch model and Rs 6,69,990 for the 85-inch variant under Sony's launch pricing. Meanwhile, the BRAVIA 7II starts at Rs 2,21,990 for 55 inches, followed by Rs 2,74,990 (65-inch), Rs 4,19,990 (75-inch), and Rs 5,29,990 (85-inch). The BRAVIA 9II goes on sale from June 29, while the BRAVIA 7II is already available in India.
Sony isn't chasing higher refresh rates or brighter numbers alone here. The company's focus is clearly on improving colour reproduction with its new True RGB backlight technology. If the real-world performance matches Sony's claims, the BRAVIA 9II and BRAVIA 7II could set a new benchmark for premium LED TVs, although their premium pricing means they'll remain aimed at enthusiasts rather than mainstream buyers. While competing with Samsung’s Neo QLED 8K and 4K, Sony is betting on its new RGB technology. These TVs are aimed at premium home theatre buyers, cinephiles and users looking for a large-screen living room setup with a top-tier experience.
