Honor held an event today in China, where the brand launched the Honor V30 and the V30 Pro smartphones. At the same event, the brand has launched a new smartwatch – the Honor MagicWatch 2. It has similar hardware as the Huawei’s Watch GT 2. The MagicWatch 2, however, is more affordable, and according to Honor, it is targeted towards a younger audience. Honor MagicWatch 2: Price, Availability

So far, Honor has revealed the price and availability details of MagicWatch 2 for two regions — China and Europe.

In China, the Honor MagicWatch 2 comes in two sizes – 42mm and 46mm. Each size comes in two color options. The 42mm MagicWatch 2 can be had in Agate Black, which costs CNY 1,099, and Sakura Gold, that comes with a price tag of CNY 1,399. The 46mm MagicWatch 2, on the other hand, can be bought in Charcoal Black that costs CNY 1,199 or Flax Brown, which costs CNY 1,399. In the European market, the 42mm Honor MagicWatch 2 starts at €179 and the 46mm variant starts at €189.

The Honor MagicWatch 2 will be available in China and the European markets from December 12.

Honor MagicWatch 2: Specifications

The 42mm Honor MagicWatch 2 has a 1.2-inch OLED screen with 390 x 390 pixels resolution, and the 46mm version has a 1.4-inch OLED unit with 454 x 454 pixels resolution. The pixel density for the displays of both sizes is rated at 326 PPI.

Powering the Honor MagicWatch 2 is the Kirin A1 chipset that does its duty in the recently-launched Huawei Watch GT 2. The smartwatch has 4GB of internal storage, where, you can use 2GB of space to store songs, which is good for almost 500 audio files.

The wearable comes with a microphone and a speaker. Thanks to which, you take calls on the device. Honor says that the advanced Bluetooth connectivity of the device allows you to take calls on it even when your phone is 150 meters away. There is also a heart-rate monitor onboard.

Connectivity options of the Honor MagicWatch 2 include Bluetooth v5.1 and GPS. There is no cellular variant on offer, at the moment. According to Honor, the 42mm variant will offer 7 days of battery backup, whereas, the 46mm variant can go up to 14 days on a single charge.

The Honor MagicWatch 2 can track 15 types of activities, including, the usual, walking, running, and cycling, and the more advanced, rowing and hiking, to name a few. The smartwatch also comes with sleep tracking, SWOLF score calculation, and 5ATM water resistance.
