Xiaomi has officially introduced its Mijia smart home brand in India, starting with the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 and Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact. The company is also bringing back the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite, giving buyers three options priced between Rs 7,999 and Rs 19,999.
Xiaomi had told MySmartPrice during the MSP BOT Awards 2025, where it was recognised as the Best Air Purifier Brand, that it planned to refresh its air purifier portfolio in India. The new launches finally deliver on that promise, while also marking the beginning of a broader Mijia push in the country.
All three air purifiers will go on sale from September 2, 2026, through Mi.com, Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Xiaomi Retail and Xiaomi Exclusive stores.

Sandeep Singh Arora, Chief Business Officer at Xiaomi India, said air purifiers will be the first Mijia products introduced in India. The company is positioning the range around different room sizes while retaining connected controls through the Xiaomi Home app.
Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 Is Designed for Larger Rooms
The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is the most capable model in the new range. Xiaomi claims coverage of up to 940 sq ft, although that figure is based on two air changes per hour. The purifier has a Particle CADR of 443 cubic metres per hour and a Formaldehyde CADR of 218 cubic metres per hour.
Xiaomi says the purifier can circulate clean air through a 108 sq ft room in approximately three and a half minutes under its test conditions. It uses what the company calls a PentaClean purification system, combining multi-stage filtration with activated carbon, UV-C treatment and a negative-ion function. Xiaomi's "India's only" claim is based on its assessment of publicly available specifications for air purifiers priced below Rs 21,000 as of August 2026.
A large colour display provides readings for PM1, PM2.5, temperature and humidity. Users can also monitor air quality, create schedules, adjust settings and check filter life through the Xiaomi Home app. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant support is included for compatible voice commands.
The claimed noise level in Sleep Mode is approximately 32dB(A), making overnight performance another area we will be interested in evaluating.
Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact Targets Bedrooms and Study Areas
Priced at Rs 7,999, the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact is meant for bedrooms, children's rooms, home offices and study areas. Xiaomi claims coverage of more than 400 sq ft, while its three-in-one filtration system is said to capture 99.97% of particles measuring 0.3 microns.
The purifier has received TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care certification and offers Auto, Manual and Sleep operating modes. A four-colour indicator provides a quick visual representation of the detected air quality.
At 2.2kg, the Compact is designed to be moved easily between rooms. Xiaomi claims a noise level of 20dB in Sleep Mode and electricity consumption of approximately 0.65kWh when operated continuously at maximum power for 24 hours.
The Xiaomi Home app can be used to control the purifier, set timers and monitor air quality remotely. Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls are also supported.
However, Xiaomi's launch material does not mention the Particle CADR for the Compact. Its actual clean-up speed, particularly in a larger room, will therefore be one of the more important aspects to establish through testing.
Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite Returns to India
Xiaomi is also reintroducing the Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite at Rs 12,999. It offers a claimed Particle CADR of up to 360 cubic metres per hour and is designed for spaces ranging from 269 sq ft to 463 sq ft.
The purifier uses a three-layer filtration system comprising a primary filter, a high-efficiency filter and activated carbon. Other features include real-time air-quality monitoring, Xiaomi Home app connectivity and a claimed Night Mode noise level of 33.4dB(A). It also carries TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care certification.
What We Are Looking Forward to Testing at MSP
Specifications such as CADR, room coverage and minimum noise levels provide a useful starting point, but they do not reveal how quickly a purifier can improve air quality under real household conditions. We are looking forward to putting the new Mijia air purifiers through MSP's testing process.
Our tests will focus on how quickly each model reduces particulate pollution, whether the built-in sensors remain close to an independent air-quality monitor and how effectively Auto Mode responds when pollution levels change. We also want to measure noise and electricity consumption across operating modes, evaluate the Xiaomi Home app experience and examine the cost and availability of replacement filters.
The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 looks particularly interesting on paper because of its higher CADR, PM1 monitoring and additional air-treatment features. The Compact, meanwhile, could prove to be the more accessible option for bedrooms and home offices. Their real value, however, will depend on whether the claimed coverage, quiet operation and connected features hold up consistently during testing.
