Apple began a more mainstream adoption of the USB Type-C port this year. It not only launched the iPhone 15 series with the new port but also refreshed AirPods Pro 2 with a USB-C charging case. The only issue was if you already have AirPods Pro 2 with a Lightning port charging case, you would have to buy the earbuds again to get the new charging case. The good news is this is finally changing as Apple has begun selling standalone USB-C charging case.
Standalone AirPods Pro 2 USB-C Charging Case: Price and Availability
Apple has listed the standalone USB-C charging case for AirPods Pro 2 on its official website. The pricing for the case alone is Rs 9,900 which is not cheap by any means but considering it is from Apple, affordability is hardly an option. It is available with EMI options starting at Rs 1,723 per month.
You can buy the standalone case immediately, but the estimated delivery date is between January 6 and 18, 2024. The Apple Store Pickup service for the case is currently unavailable. It could change by the time Apple starts shipping orders for the new case.
Standalone AirPods Pro 2 USB-C Charging Case Features
The standalone USB-C charging case for AirPods Pro 2 comes with the U1 chip. This enables Precision Finding to help users find their lost AirPods quickly and more accurately.
There is an in-built speaker that can be used to play a sound when you are near the case but can’t pinpoint the location. The case has lanyard loop support but you will need to buy the lanyard separately.
