CES 2024: JBL Launches Audio Accessories Under Live, Tune and SoundGear Sense Series

JBL introduced a wide array of audio accessories under its Live and Tune series at CES 2024 in Las Vegas. The company has announced several earbuds and headphones under its Live and Tune series, which will launch in global markets later this year. JBL Buds 3, Beam 3, and Flex 3 earbuds come with similar specifications, but different designs. Additionally, the company has also announced Live 770NC, Tune 770NC, Tune 720BT, Live 670NC, Tune 670NC, and Tune 520BT over- and on-ear headphones.

The company has also marked its debut in the open-ear headphones category with the launch of the Soundgear Sense. Let’s take a look at the price and specifications of all newly launched JBL audio products.

JBL Live, Tune, Soundgear Sense Price, Availability

The JBL Live Buds 3, Beam 3, and Flex 3 earbuds are all priced at $200 (~Rs 16,500). These earbuds will be offered in black and silver colours when they go on sale sometime in summer 2024.

As for headphones, JBL will launch Live 770NC, Tune 770NC, Tune 720BT, Live 670NC, Tune 670NC, and Tune 520BT in March 2024 in Black, Blue, Gold, and White colours. These will be priced at $200 (~Rs 16,500), $100 (~Rs 8,300), $80 (~Rs 6,500), $130 (~Rs 10,800), $100 (~Rs 8,300), and $50 (~Rs 4,150), respectively.

Lastly, the JBL Soundgear Sense will come with a price tag of $150 (~Rs 12,500). The debut open-ear headphones from the brand will arrive in Spring 2024 in Black and White colours.

JBL Live Buds 3, Beam 3, Flex 3 Features

The new JBL Live Buds 3, Beam 3, and Flex 3 are all the same headphones with different designs. The Buds 3 are dot-style earbuds where the whole body of the earbuds sits inside the ear.

The Live Beam 3 and Live Flex 3 are stem-type earbuds with silicon ear tips and no tips, respectively as you can see in the image above. Apart from these design differences, all three earbuds are nearly identical.

The pebble-shaped charging case features a 1.45-inch LED display that first appeared on the JBL Tour Pro 2 in 2023. The display is meant for easy access to features like ANC, ambient sound, EQ, volume, skipping/repeating tracks, and the battery life of buds and cases. These features and settings can also be accessed from the JBL Headphones app available on both Android and iOS devices.

JBL has equipped all three earbuds with multipoint connectivity to connect with two devices simultaneously. These earbuds come with support for LDAC, Spatial Audio, and more. The Buds 3 and Beam 3 come with an IP55 rating, whereas the Flex 3 has an IP54 rating for protection.

The Live Beam 3 and Flex 3 offer up to 12 hours of battery life on a single charge with ANC off, whereas the Buds 3 offers slightly lower at up to 10 hours. JBL claims that the charging case offers three full charges.

The JBL Live 770NC and Live 670NC are the same headphones with over-ear and on-ear designs respectively. These are the most feature-rich headphones of the lot. They come with the Personi-Fi 2.0, which is JBL’s proprietary tuning feature within the Headphones app. Additionally, these headphones offer spatial audio for any stereo content.

The Tune 770NC and Tune 670NC come with over-ear and on-ear designs respectively. These headphones offer features like 70 hours of playback per charge with ANC off, adaptive ANC, Pure Bass sound, and more.

The Tune 720BT over-ear and Tune 520BT on-ear are the most affordable of the lot and come without ANC. JBL claims that the former offers 76 hours of playback on a single charge, whereas the latter lasts up to 57 hours. All these headphones offer JBL’s Pure Bass sound profile, multipoint support, voice assistant, and more.

JBL Soundgear Sense Features

The JBL Soundgear Sense is the brand’s debut offering in the open-ear headphones category. These earphones utilises  JBL’s OpenSound air conduction technology to play music without covering the ears of the users. The Soundgear Sense comes with an ear hook design with the neckband for an additional secure fit. Users can detach the neckband to turn Soundgear Sense into a TWS open-ear headphones.

Soundgear Sens can offer superior bass with minimal sound leakage despite the open-ear design, according to JBL. The company also assures of a 6-hour playback on a single charge. The charging case is rated to offer three full charges to the earbuds.
