Batman: Arkham Shadow VR Game Confirmed to be Meta Quest 3 Exclusive

  • Batman: Arkham Shadow is set to release in late 2024.
  • The next Batman: Arkham game will be released after nearly a decade.

Meta has officially announced the next Batman: Arkham video game will be released exclusively on Quest 3. The VR game is called Batman: Arkham Shadow and will arrive later this year. Most details are under wraps for the time being but here is what we know so far.

Batman: Arkham Shadow VR Game Details

The teaser trailer for Batman: Arkham Shadow offers a glimpse of what to expect from the video game. It shows the gloomy setting of Gotham City that you must be familiar with if you have played any of the Batman: Arkham games. It also offers a look at Batman but nothing much to talk about.

The description says, “Evil stalks the streets. Gotham City is in danger. And you’re the only one who can save it.” This is a generic description that applies to every other Batman video game. Meta has not shared anything that tells us what makes Batman: Arkham Shadow different from other titles in the series.

The biggest difference so far is that it is set to be a VR game. However, it will not be the first Batman VR game in the series. The honour goes to Batman: Arkham VR, which was released in 2016. It was a short video game and failed to receive any major praise.

Batman: Arkham Shadow is being developed in collaboration between Camouflaj and Oculus Studios. The former is a developer known for working on Iron Man VR, which was released in 2020.

Meta says it will share more details about Batman: Arkham Shadow on June 7 at Summer Game Fest 2024. The game is currently planned for release in late 2024, but things can change at any time. We have seen game launches getting delayed in the past. Nevertheless, we will keep you posted on all the new developments.
