KRAFTON India has opened pre-registrations for BGMI LITE in India, giving Android users an early opportunity to sign up for the upcoming lighter version of Battlegrounds Mobile India. Pre-registrations are now live through Google Play.
BGMI LITE is designed to bring the core BGMI experience to a wider audience in a lighter package. KRAFTON says the game will retain the elements players know and enjoy while making it easier for more players to jump into the Battlegrounds experience. One of the biggest highlights is the game's around 1GB initial download size, which should allow players to get started without a large mandatory download. The game is built around the tagline "Nothing Less, Just Lighter", with KRAFTON positioning it as a more accessible entry point to the Battlegrounds universe.
Existing BGMI players will also be able to use their existing BGMI accounts with BGMI LITE. There will be no requirement to transfer IDs or create a new account, with players' items and progress carrying over to the lighter version.
BGMI LITE will also support cross-play between BGMI and BGMI LITE, allowing players on either version to squad up and play together. This means players choosing the lighter version won't necessarily be separated from friends who continue using the full BGMI experience.

BGMI LITE is scheduled to launch later in 2026, but KRAFTON has not announced an exact launch date yet. For now, Android users in India can pre-register through Google Play and stay tuned for further announcements regarding rewards, launch timelines, and upcoming features.
