X (formerly Twitter) is facing downtime in several parts of the world. The service is not responding on the official website and applications. The service disruptions started at around 11:15 AM IST.
While the X website opens upon entering the Twitter.com domain in the address bar of your browser, it is not loading posts and other content on the timeline. The timeline instead shows a message ‘Welcome to X’. Other options such as search and direct messages are also not functional.
A similar issue is being noticed on the Android and iOS applications of X. Some users report that the Spaces feature appears to be functional, the the actual posts and other content on the platform are not visible.
Some users also report that they are able to make new posts on the platform in this downtime. However, those posts are not visible to other users as the timeline is not refreshing.
Downdetector is also showing an outage of X’s services. Over 10,000 people have reported that X is not working.
Users have started complaining about X’s downtime on several other platforms such as Instagram. The Elon Musk-led company has not responded to the situation yet.
Twitter is expected to restore its services at its earliest. The reason for the downtime is currently not known yet. We will keep you updated on the same once the X is back online.
Update 12:30 PM IST:
X has restored its services. The website and application are back online, and users can now see posts on their timelines normally. Posts made during the downtime were also saved, and remain visible to all users.
We are still waiting to hear from X to know the reason for this downtime.
