  • The iQOO Neo 9 SE is available at a discounted price of Rs 27,990 on Amazon.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 12 Series today in India. It consists of three phones – Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G. The most premium offering is the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ which has some excellent specs on paper such as a 200MP camera sensor, 120W charging, 120Hz AMOLED display, and more. The Redmi Note 12 Series starts from Rs 29,999 in India which is the highest price for a Redmi Note series device in the country. However, iQOO 9 SE is here to crash Xiaomi’s party with a value-for-money deal. The phone is available for a discounted price on Amazon and it seems to be a better choice for gamers.

The iQOO 9 SE was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 33,990. However, as per a promotional offer, the device is available on Amazon for just Rs 29,990. That’s a Rs 4,000 discount on the device. Apart from that, buyers can avail of an additional Rs 2,000 discount by using an HDFC or SBI bank card. This brings the effective net price down to Rs 27,990. Here’s a breakdown of the same.

The iQOO 9 SE seems to be a better pick over the Redmi Note 12 Pro+

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, priced at Rs 29,999, no doubt offers some of the top-of-the-line specs. It has a 200MP main camera sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support. A 120W charging technology that can juice up the phone’s 5,000mAh battery in just 19 minutes. However, on the other aspects, it is either equivalent to or less than the iQOO 9 SE.

Talking about performance, the Mediatek Dimensity 1080 is a mid-range chip used on the Redmi Note 12 Pro+. On the other hand, the iQOO 9 SE uses the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip that performs far better than the Dimensity 1080.

Although the design is subjective, the iQOO 9 SE looks appealing and premium compared to the Redmi Note 12 Pro+.

Both phones offer an AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. However, iQOO uses an Intelligent Display Chip that is said to increase the frame rate and optimise colors.

Despite the Android 13 being available now, Xiaomi has opted for the old-gen Android 12 for its Redmi Note 12 Series which places it on the same page as the iQOO 9 SE. Both the devices were launched with Android 12 and are confirmed to receive two major OS updates.

Rest, the iQOO 9 SE lags behind the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ in the department of charging and camera. The iQOO 9 SE takes 39 minutes to fully charge its 4,500mAh battery whereas the Note 12 Pro+ can go from 0 to 100% in just 19 minutes, thanks to its 120W fast charging technology.

You get a 48MP triple rear camera setup on the iQOO 9 SE that is attached to a 13MP ultra wide lens and a 2MP macro sensor. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ has a 200MP sensor that can shoot detailed pictures. The other two sensors on the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ are an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro sensor.

Even though the iQOO 9 SE is a months-old device, it looks value for a money device for gamers because of its balance in overall specs and a flagship chipset. For Rs 27,990, you shouldn’t miss this deal.
