Two Unannounced Google Smartphones Spotted at the FCC, Could be Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL

Earlier this month, we revealed the model numbers of Google’s upcoming Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL smartphones. We have now spotted two unannounced Google smartphones bearing model numbers G020A, G020B, G020C, G020D, G020E, G020F, G020G, and G020H on the US FCC website. While the FCC documents do not shed any light on the identity of the smartphones, it is possible that the G020A, G020B, G020C, G020D, G020E, G020F, G020G and G020H may be variants of the rumored Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL.

Google Pixel 3 Lite, Pixel 3 Lite XL May Finally Debut Soon

Model Number Expected Marketing Name
G020A Pixel 3 Lite
G020B Pixel 3 Lite
G020C Pixel 3 Lite
G020D Pixel 3 Lite
G020E Pixel 3 Lite XL
G020F Pixel 3 Lite XL
G020G Pixel 3 Lite XL
G020H Pixel 3 Lite XL

Since our source had suggested the Pixel 3 Lite will carry the G020B model number, it is possible that the G020A, G020B, G020C and G020D will be variants of the smaller mid-range Pixel smartphone. The G020E, G020F, G020G and G020H variants, which have also been spotted on the FCC website, are likely to be variants of the bigger Pixel 3 Lite XL. Sadly, however, the FCC filings include no information whatsoever regarding the hardware specifications of the two smartphones. They only confirm that the two smartphones will be running on the Android 9.0 Pie operating system out of the box at launch. Going by previous leaks, we expect the Google Pixel 3 Lite or Pixel 3a to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 10nm octa-core processor under the hood. On the other hand, the Pixel 3 Lite XL variant is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 710 SoC instead. Both models will include “only” 4GB of RAM, which may disappoint some buyers.

The Google Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL models will be aimed at price-sensitive customers in emerging markets such as India. While they are expected to be more expensive than mid-range smartphones from most Android OEMs, both the smartphones will still be more affordable than Apple’s “budget” model, the iPhone XR. As we mentioned in our previous report, the Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL will both be making their way to the Indian market soon.
