Honor recently announced two interesting budget Android smartphones, the Honor 8X and its slightly better equipped bigger cousin, the Honor 8X Max. The latter of the two is now officially available for sale starting today i.e October 8, 2018, in China. The pre-orders of the smartphone has ended yesterday.
Huawei’s sub-brand Honor announced the Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max Android smartphones at an event in China last month, in August. The smartphone launched in not just different memory configurations but also packed different processors. The Honor 8X Max variant with Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processors has been selling in China since September 11. Honor has now officially made the Honor 8X Max variant with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC available for sale, which needless to say, is slightly better.
Honor 8X Max: Snapdragon 660 Version Now Available for Sale in China Today
The Honor 8X Max with Snapdragon 660 SoC is now available for sale in China. Major e-commerce platforms such as Jingdong, Tmall, Suning, Tesco, Huawei Mall, Gome, VIPShop, are participating in the sale.
The Honor 8X Max Snapdragon 660 version with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage costs CNY 1,799 in China. The price roughly translates to Rs. 19,000 in India. The Snapdragon 636-powered variant costs CNY 1,499 yuan (Rs.15,900 approx.) for the 4GB/64GB variant, and the 4GB/128GB variant costs CNY 1,799 (Rs.19,000 approx.).
The Honor 8X Max Snapdragon 660 version is available in Midnight Black, Charm Blue, and Charm Red color options. The Snapdragon 636-powered version of the large-screen Honor smartphone is also available in the same color options.
Honor 8X Max: Specifications, Features
The Honor 8X Max features a large 7.12-inch IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2244 pixels Full HD+ resolution and an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. The water drop notch at the top offers an impressive 90.5 percent screen-to-body ratio. In addition to the internal memory, the phablet has hybrid dual-SIM slots, to expand the storage further up to 256GB.
The Honor 8X Max features a 16MP + 2MP dual-camera setup at the back. While the 16MP sensor is coupled with an f/2.0 aperture, the secondary 2MP sensor is paired with an f/2.4 aperture. The phablet sports an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
One of the main highlights of the Honor 8X Max is the large 5,000mAh capacity battery. The large-screen Android smartphone comes with Fast Charging support. Some of the other key highlights of the smartphone include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound. The smartphone phablet runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.2 out of the box.
Honor 8X Max: Expected Price, Availability in India
Honor has not confirmed international availability of the Honor 8X Max yet. But we expect the Snapdragon 660 version could land in India, and sport a list price of slightly below Rs.20,000.
