iQOO Neo 8 Series Confirmed to Feature Sony IMX866V Camera Sensor, 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 Storage

iQOO will launch the Neo 8 series next week in China. The company has confirmed that it will launch two premium phones under the Neo 8 series. These include the vanilla Neo 8 5G and the Neo 8 Pro. The company has started teasing the launch of the device by revealing some key specifications and features. iQOO has also revealed the rear panel design of the Neo 8 series ahead of launch. Now, the latest teaser confirms the camera specs of the Neo 8 series.

iQOO has already revealed that the upcoming Neo series devices will feature a triple-camera setup on the back. The latest teaser now confirms that the company will feature a Sony camera sensor in the Neo 8 series. Let’s take a look at the iQOO Neo 8 series specifications, features and other details.

iQOO Neo 8 Series Specifications Teased

iQOO Neo 8 series will launch later this month in China. Ahead of the launch, the company has teased some key specs of the phones. The Neo 8 series is now confirmed to feature a Sony IMX866V camera sensor. The 50MP main camera sensor is also confirmed to feature support for optical image stabilisation (OIS). The company did not reveal the rest of the camera specs of the triple-camera setup.

A separate teaser also confirms that the Neo 8 series will feature support for Wi-Fi 7. The devices will come with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, which is currently found in flagship devices. The fine print suggests that there might be a 128GB variant, which will offer support for UFS 3.1. Memory options with 256GB or more will feature UFS 4.0 storage.

iQOO has already confirmed that the Neo 8 Pro will feature the top-end Dimensity 9200+ SoC from MediaTek, which has a peak clock speed of 3.35GHz and is based on a 4nm fabrication process. The device, along with the Neo 8, will feature the V1+ image signal processor (ISP),w which is claimed to enhance the camera and overall performance of the device.

The Neo 8 series will also offer 144Hz refresh rate support. At the moment, it is unknown if the 144Hz display will be exclusive to the Pro model or whether the vanilla Neo 8 will also come with the smoother refresh rate tech.

The Neo 8 was spotted on Geekbench with the model number V2301A. It revealed that the phone has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC or possibly an under-clocked version of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which has a peak clock speed of 3.0GHz. The variant of the Neo 8 listed on Geekbench had 16GB of RAM. It was spotted running Android 13 out of the box. We can expect the phone to have a layer of Origin OS 3 on top of Android in China.

The Neo 8 series is confirmed to feature a vegan leather back panel in red. We can expect the company to launch the phone in more colour options. The phones are likely to sport a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution. They might also pack a 5000mAh battery and offer 120W fast charging support.
