Lava has launched the successor of its Agni smartphone, the new Agni 2 5G in India. The phone is now official after being spotted via various leaks in the past couple of weeks. The Lava Agni 2 5G features a green-coloured curved rear panel with a huge circular camera module, similar to that of the OPPO Find X6 Pro.
It becomes the most affordable phone in India to feature a 3D Dual Curved AMOLED panel. Earlier, the Realme 10 Pro Plus held this crown. Another main highlight of the device is that it’s the first phone in India to pack a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset under the hood. Lava Agni 2 5G Price in India, Sale Details
The Lava Agni 2 5G has been launched in India in a single configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage which is priced at Rs 21,999. As an introductory offer, users can avail of a flat Rs 2,000 discount using all major credit & debit cards. This brings the effective price of the Agni 2 5G down to Rs 19,999.
It will go on sale on Amazon on May 24 at 10 AM. As of now, it seems that the device will be available only in green colour.
Lava Agni 2 5G Specifications and Features
The Lava Agni 2 5G features a glass-back design. It flaunts a 6.78-inch 3D Dual curved AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. The display will have support for a 120Hz refresh rate, 1.07 billion colour depth, HDR, HDR 10 and HDR 10+ and Widevine L1.
The Agni 2 5G is the first device in India to feature the latest MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset. The chipset is said to be a rebranded version of Mediatek Dimensity 1080. The System-on-chip (SoC) is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Furthermore, there is support for 8GB virtual RAM. It boots the Android 13 operating system. Lava claims that the device has no bloatware or ads. The company is promising two years of Android updates and three years of security patches.
For connectivity it supports all 13 5G bands: n1/n3/n5/n7/n8/n20/n28/n38/
The Agni 2 is powered by a 4700mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging, which is claimed to give users a 50% charge in less than 16 minutes.
On the back, it features a 50MP quad camera setup. Lava has not revealed all the sensor details but the rumour mill had claimed that it features an 8MP ultra-wide camera and two 2MP sensors on the back.
For biometrics, it has support for face unlock and in-display fingerprints.
Lava Agni 2 5G users will get free service or free replacement at home under the warranty period. The company is offering a year warranty with the device.
