OnePlus teased the launch of its first foldable phone earlier this year. The company, without confirming the exact launch date or timeline, revealed that the OnePlus V Fold will launch later this year. Recently, reports suggested that OnePlus has had a change of mind and decided to call its first foldable the OnePlus Open. While there is no official confirmation about the launch details just yet, the rumour mill continues to churn out more details about the upcoming OnePlus foldable phone. The latest one reveals multiple details about the OnePlus foldable phone.

According to tipster Max Jambor, the OnePlus Open will launch on August 29. The tipster also revealed some specifications and key features of the foldable phone. Let’s take a look at some of the key OnePlus Open specifications, features and other details revealed so far.

OnePlus Open Specifications: What We Know So Far

The OnePlus Open launch event could be hosted in August. According to the latest leak, the OnePlus foldable phone might launch on August 29. According to tipster Jambor, the OnePlus Open will launch in two colour options – Black and Green.

The tipster added that the foldable phone’s aspect ratio will be similar to the Oppo Find N2. The Oppo foldable phone’s outer display has an 18:9 aspect ratio, whereas the inner foldable screen has an 8.4:9 aspect ratio. The tipster also added that the OnePlus foldable has a periscope lens on the back with support for 3x optical zoom.

MySmartPrice exclusively shared the specifications of the upcoming OnePlus foldable phone. The device will sport a 6.3-inch AMOLED cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will also feature a 7.8-inch foldable AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and support for a 120Hz refresh rate.

The foldable phone has a tiny hole-punch cutout at the top left corner of the foldable display for the 20MP front camera. The cover screen has a centrally aligned hole-punch cutout for the 32MP secondary front camera.

Design renders of the OnePlus Fold had leaked in the past. It revealed that the foldable phone has a massive circular camera module on the back. The rear panel has a vegan leather finish as well. The device is also likely to feature glass or metal back variants.

The device will feature a 48MP primary camera sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide camera and a 64MP telephoto camera sensor. The camera system will be tuned in collaboration with Hasselblad.

Under the hood, there will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The device will also launch with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The OnePlus foldable phone will pack a beefy 4800mAh battery. It is also likely to offer 67W fast charging support out-of-the-box. We can also expect the device to boot on Android 13 out of the box and have a layer of Oxygen OS 13.1 on top.

Jambor also added that the OnePlus Open will launch as the OPPO Find N3 in China.
