Redmi Note 10 Pro Proximity Sensor Issue Officially Acknowledged, Upcoming MIUI Update to Fix the Bug

Apart from Redmi Note 10 Pro, POCO X3 NFC, and POCO F3 users have also reported a similar issue.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 10 series – Note 10, Note 10 Pro, and Note 10 Pro Max in India a couple of months back. Several users have been reporting a proximity sensor issue for the Redmi Note 10 Pro, and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max smartphones. This might be due to the Ultrasonic Proximity Sensor that Xiaomi used on the Redmi Note 10 Pro series devices. For those unaware, the proximity sensor helps to turn off the display when you take the phone near your ear during calls, this prevents the phone from registering accidental touches. A new report by PiunikaWeb suggests that Xiaomi has acknowledged the issue on Mi Community, and a bug fix update will be rolled out in the future.

POCO X3, and POCO F3 users are also facing a similar issue!

Redmi Note 10 Pro, and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max aren’t the only devices that are facing the issue. POCO X3, POCO X3 NFC, and POCO F3 users are also reporting similar issues for their devices. Users took it to POCO Community, and Mi Community to raise the issue with the company. A Redmi Note 10 Pro users, on Mi Community, wrote,

The proximity sensor sometimes does not work. Here is a test I did in which I put my hand on the phone in intervals but sometimes the light turned on and sometimes it does not. The light should turn off when the hand is on the phone.

A POCO X3 user took it to Twitter to register his complaint,

Hello I have poco X3 device and after doing April update it has some issues with proximity sensor when I am on call. Need your help. How can I resolve it? Tell ASAP

As evident from the quoted complaints, the users are facing trouble with the screen lighting up during the calls. Xiaomi was quick to acknowledge the issue, as it included it with MIUI Weekly Bug Report. This confirms that Redmi Note 10 Pro users in various regions including India, Europe, and Global are facing the issue, and the company will roll-out an update soon to fix the issue. Xiaomi has acknowledged the issue for POCO X3 NFC Europe ROM, so we are not sure if the issue will also be fixed on Indian ROM with future updates. DO you use any of the above-mentioned smartphones?
