Redmi Note 13 Series Will Get 3 Years of Android Updates, Claims New Leak

Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi Note 13 series devices such as the Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, and the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G in India on January 4. The lineup is confirmed to go on sale in India via Flipkart and Amazon. While we wait for the launch of the devices, new information about the smartphones has been coming out courtesy of several leaks.

Now, ahead of launch, it is being revealed by tipster Sudhanshu on X.com (formerly Twitter) that the Redmi Note 13 series devices will run Android 14-based MIUI 14 out of the box, instead of the HyperOS in the Indian and global markets.

Tipster Sudhanshu also has revealed that the Redmi Note 13 series smartphones will receive three Android software updates and four years of security patches. Additionally, he also confirms that the Redmi Note 13 devices will not receive a HyperOS update anytime soon. The Redmi Note 13 series devices which are launching in India on January 4 are expected to offer similar specifications as that of the Chinese variants.

The Redmi Note 13 lineup boasts a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Redmi Note 13 5G vanilla model is powered by Dimensity 6080 SoC, while the Redmi Note 13 Pro and the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G come with Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipsets respectively.

When it comes to imaging, all the Redmi Note 13 series models feature a 16MP selfie camera. The rear-facing camera module on the Redmi Note 13 includes a 100MP primary camera and 2MP depth sensors, whereas the other two smartphones boast a 200MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor.

The Redmi Note 13 5G and the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G pack a 5,000mAh battery which supports 67W and 120W fast charging, respectively, while the Note 13 Pro 5G comes with a 5,100mAh battery and it supports 67W fast charging. Last but not least, for security purposes, these devices have an in-display fingerprint sensor and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
