Sony debuted its flagship Xperia 1 at MWC this year. Now, the smartphone has an official release date with the brand gearing up to hold a launch event in Taiwan. Media invites have been sent out for this event which will take place on April 26. Other than pricing, there isn’t much left to know about this smartphone.
Sony Xperia 1 Specifications
The Sony Xperia 1 will be the first smartphone in the world to come with a 21:9 aspect ratio screen. Sony calls this a CinemeWide display considering many movies are generally shot in this aspect ratio. This display measures 6.5-inches diagonally, bears a 4K resolution, and support HDR. For protection, this screen makes use of Gorilla Glass 6.
This will be the first phone from Sony to come with a triple rear camera setup. All of these are 12MP sensors, with the primary shooter offering a 1/2.6-inch sensor size and f/1.6 aperture. The other two cameras are ultra-wide and telephoto sensors with 1/3.4-inch size and f/2.4 aperture. This setup also features OIS. Shooting 4K HDR videos will also be possible, with the only feature being missed out here is 4K 60fps recording. For selfies, the phone will come with an 8MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, and 84-degree viewing angle.
