The hype is building up around the Xiaomi 12 series. The upcoming Xiaomi 12 lineup was already under discussion and was under the radar of tipsters, who gathered more and more information painting a clearer picture. Back in August, based on information revealed by Digital Chat Station, we reported that the Xiaomi 12 will come with a triple camera setup on the back having a 50-megapixel primary camera along with a telephoto and an ultra-wide lens. It was expected that the phone would come with 5x Periscope Zoom. Last month, more information regarding the Xiaomi 12 started coming out, including the fact that there will be 50-megapixel telephoto and ultra-wide lenses on the device and it was also almost confirmed that the device would be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 898 SoC.
The Xiaomi 12 is probably going to be the first phone with Snapdragon 898 and looks like the launch is pretty imminent now, instead of the early 2022 launch that was claimed earlier. Digital Chat Station, the same tipster has now revealed that the base variant of the device will come with 100W fast charging, not 120W like on the Mi 10 Ultra and Mi 11T Pro.

The base model may also lack the periscope zoom camera and high-resolution telephoto and ultra-wide cameras. However, the Pro variant of the device may offer these as well. Xiaomi 12 will pack a large battery, but the exact capacity is still unknown. However, the device is said to offer an excellent scree-to-body ratio and a smaller punch-hole for the front-facing camera.

As mentioned earlier, the tipster talked about 50-megapixel telephoto and ultra-wide lenses on the Pro model for Xiaomi 12 back in August and it looks like there are no changes to the plan in terms of that specific model. Though it would be interesting to see how Xiaomi decides the pricing of the base model and Pro model as now, the gap between the two seems to have widened quite a bit and Xiaomi may price the Pro model aggressively to lure more customers to go for it, instead of the base variant.
