November seems to be quite a lucky month for smartphone users. This month has seen a number of smartphones receiving software updates. A week or so ago, the Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 8, as well as the Nokia 8 Sirocco received a software update, updating the devices to the latest Android security patch. Well, it seems like this is far from coming to an end as it continues to rain software updates. It doesn’t come as much of a surprise that the Nokia 6.1, Honor 7X and Honor 9N have now joined the software update list. All three smartphones have received a software update with the highlight of the update being the November 2018 Android security patch.

Nokia 6.1, Honor 7X And Honor 9N Get November 2018 Android Security Patch

The Nokia 6.1 has received a software update with the latest security patch just a few days after the Nokia 6.1 Plus. The update is currently rolling out in India and in the UAE. The update is available for download as an OTA, packed into a fairly small file size of just 83.3MB. Do note that this is just an incremental update which doesn’t add any extra functionality to the smartphone.

Nokia 6.1 software update

A glance at the changelog will disclose that nothing much has really changed apart from the addition of the November 2018 Android security patch. While this may seem trivial, it isn’t. Having the latest security patch ensures maximum safety as well as performance.

Honor appears to be showing its smartphones some love by rolling out security patches for its Honor 9N and Honor 7X. Needless to say, both updates feature no real fixes or added features apart from the latest security patch. The software update for the Honor 9N updates the device to the build version LLD-AL20 8.0.0.131(C675) and is 112MB in size. This is available as an OTA update and is automatically installed without requiring any intervention from the user.

The Honor 7X seems to have the edge over the Honor 9N when it comes to this software update. If you’re wondering why it’s because the Honor 9N is receiving the November 2018 security patch while the Honor 7X is receiving the December 2018 security patch. This update brings the Honor 7X to the build version 8.0.0.360. Updating the device is pretty simple and can be performed by an average smartphone user. This is because the update is available through an OTA. This means apart from accepting the download option, users don’t have to do anything else. The update will then download and install on its own and the smartphone will boot up normally once the update has been completed.
