Nothing has revealed that the Nothing Phone (2a) will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro processor. The Nothing Phone (2a) is the company’s first mid-range smartphone and will make its debut on March 5 in India and other markets.
The Nothing Phone (2a) will also be the first handset from the brand to sport a MediaTek processor. The phone’s launch will also mark the debut of the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC as MediaTek is yet to announce the chipset. So we can expect an announcement from the company on/before March 5. Nothing said that it considered two Snapdragon processors – Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G for the Nothing Phone (2a) but the company decided not to go ahead as these Snapdragon processors performed lower than the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro.
The MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro is fabricated on TSMC’s 4nm process and it features better software and hardware integration compared to the Dimensity 7200. Nothing claims that it has tuned the power draw of certain components such as display IC and modem to mark it more power efficient.
Nothing has also revealed that the Nothing Phone (2a) features Smart Clean which deep cleans and shuffles the order of the files to ensure that UFS read and write speeds do not reduce over time. The company also claims that the Nothing Phone (2a) will offer much better battery life compared to the Phone (1).

Also, OnLeaks, in collaboration with SmartPrix also revealed the Nothing Phone (2a)’s design renders, specifications, and India price. As per the report, the Nothing Phone (2a) base variant could be priced at Rs 23,999 in the Indian market.
The Nothing Phone (2a) is tipped to sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone, as seen in renders, will feature a dual-rear camera setup, which might include a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL sensor S5KG9 with optical image stabilisation (OIS). It could also include a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor with ultra-wide-angle functionality. The handset is tipped to sport a 32MP selfie camera.
The Nothing Phone (2a) will reportedly be equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and 45W fast charging support. The handset might come pre-loaded with Nothing OS 2.5.2, based on Android 14.
It is said to weigh 188 grams and measure 162.2 × 76.5 × 8.7mm. The handset will reportedly be offered in 8GB and 12GB RAM configurations. Nothing might also allow users to choose between 128GB/ 256GB storage options.
