OnePlus Watch 2 will launch in 2024, according to the latest report. The information comes from the noted tipster Max Jambor, who was tweeting about the circular signature style of OnePlus as a brand. Jambor listed several devices, including the OnePlus 11, OnePlus Pad, and OnePlus Open, with circular cameras as examples. In the same tweet, the tipster mentioned two upcoming devices, including the OnePlus Watch 2 with a circular dial and the OnePlus 12 with a circular camera. Let’s take a look at what the noted tipster revealed.

OnePlus Watch 2 Will Come With WearOS Unlike its Predecessor

As you already know, it’s been a while since OnePlus launched its debut smartwatch, OnePlus Watch. It was launched three years ago, in 2021, amidst much fanfare. However, it was not received well, and the brand didn’t launch a successor until now. As you can see in the tweet above, Jambor is confident that the brand will launch the second generation OnePlus Watch in the coming year.

The OnePlus Watch was launched with a circular display, and the brand will retain the classic design on the next-generation smartwatch. However, the tipster notes that the OnePlus Watch 2 will be better than the original OnePlus Watch, which is a low bar to pass.

For the uninitiated, the original OnePlus Watch came with a Wear OS look-alike proprietary OS from the brand, which didn’t leave a lasting impression. While the brand rolled out several updates to the watch, it never went beyond being a digital watch with basic fitness tracking. This is why OnePlus quickly discontinued its debut smartwatch in 2022 and stopped support in early 2022.

Jambor claims that the new OnePlus Watch 2 will come with the Wear OS and not the look-alike proprietary version of it. The OnePlus Watch 2 will not be an OPPO rebadge since all OPPO smartwatches with Wear OS feature a square display. Currently, there’s no word on the launch timeline of the OnePlus Watch 2. We can expect it to launch around the same time as the OnePlus Watch, towards the end of March 2024.

To refresh your memory, the OnePlus Watch has a 1.39-inch HD AMOLED display offering a 454×454 screen resolution and 46mm dial. It ran on an RTOS-based OS and offered 110 workout modes. Other features included an IP67 rating, 402mAh battery, SpO2 sensor, sleep tracking, heart rating monitoring, and stress tracking.
