Popular Chinese smartphone maker OPPO introduced its all-new Reno series smartphones at an event held in China last month. Shortly after their unveiling in China, OPPO held a European launch event for the OPPO Reno, Reno 5G, and Reno 10x Zoom in Zurich. The company has now expanded the Reno family with the introduction of Reno Z. Unlike the Reno standard edition and the flagship Reno 10x Zoom, however, the new Reno Z does not have a pivot rising selfie camera.

OPPO Reno Z Price, Availability

The OPPO Reno Z has been priced at EUR 190 (INR 14,800 approx.) for the European market. It will be sold in two color options: Ocean Green and Jet Black. OPPO has announced that the phone will go on sale starting next month in Europe. The company is yet to confirm any plans regarding the Reno Z’s availability in other markets. While the OPPO Reno is set to be launched in India tomorrow, i.e. May 28, it remains to be seen if the more affordable Reno Z will be making its way to our shores in the near future.

OPPO Reno Z Features, Specifications

The new OPPO Reno Z sports a 6.4-inch AMOLED display panel featuring a waterdrop notch at the top and 1080 x 2340 pixels Full HD+ resolution. While the Reno Z may not have the same pivot rising camera as the other Reno series phones launched so far, it does include an optical In-display fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, the Reno Z does not run on a MediaTek Helio P90 chipset as a recent leak had tipped. Instead, it features the same 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset as the Reno standard edition. When it comes to the memory department, Reno Z is available in a single configuration with 6GB RAM and 128GB native storage. It lacks a microSD card slot, which means further storage expansion will not be possible.

At the rear, OPPO Reno Z is equipped with a dual-camera setup featuring a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. The selfie camera housed inside the waterdrop notch at the top of the phone’s display uses a 32-megapixel sensor. Connectivity-wise, OPPO Reno Z offers support for all the modern standards such as dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, NFC, 4G VoLTE, and a USB Type-C port. The phone also packs a large 3950mAh capacity non-removable battery with OPPO’s 20W VOOC 3.0 flash charge technology. In terms of physical size, the Reno Z measures 157.3 x 74.9 x 9.1mm and weighs 186 grams. It will ship with OPPO’s latest ColorOS 6.0 running on top of Android 9.0 Pie.
