MediaTek, at the MediaTek Dimensity Developer Conference (MDDC) 2024, has unveiled the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset. The Dimensity 9300+ is manufactured on TSMC’s third-generation 4nm fabrication process and arrives as a successor to the Dimensity 9300 processor. Take a look at the details.
MediaTek Dimensity 9300+: Features, Specs
The MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ supports on-device LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation) and NeuroPilot LORA Fusion 2.0, which will help bring AI features with text, images, and more. The in-house NeuroPilot Speculative Decode Acceleration technology enables support for Large Language Models or LLMs (like Google Gemini Nano, Meta Llama 2, Meta Llama 3, Alibaba Cloud Qwen, 01.AI Yi-Nano, Baichuan AI, and more) with seven billion parameters at 22 tokens per second.
The Dimensity 9300+ also brings an improved APU (AI processing unit), the APU 790 AI engine, which promises up to 10% better performance compared to the Dimensity 9300.
The octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoC has a 1+3+4 core configuration. It includes,
- A Cortex-X4 prime core with up to 3.4GHz peak frequency
- Three Cortex-X4 performance cores that operate at up to 2.85GHz
- Four Cortex-A720-based efficiency cores clocked at up to 2.0GHz
- 18MB L3 + SLC Cache
The Dimensity 9300+ features a 12-core ARM Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU with a second-generation hardware raytracing engine and adaptive gaming technology (MAGT). This enables fast raytracing experiences at smooth 60fps and boosts power efficiency. It supports up to LPDDR5T RAM and up to UFS 4.0 storage.
MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ features an Imagiq 990 ISP unit that offers 18-bit RAW processing and brings an AI Semantic Analysis Video Engine. It enables advanced videography features such as 16-scene segmentation with enhanced colours, increased brightness, reduced noise and more. The Dimensity 9300+ also comes with MiraVision 990 which features advanced AI depth engine technologies to enhance smartphone content.
The Dimensity 9300+ also features HyperEngine's new Network Observation System (NOS) for improved Wi-Fi and cellular dual-network concurrency using precise network technology. MediaTek says that NOS enables up to 10% power saving and up to 25% cellular data savings.
