Realme has started sharing teasers for a new smartphone launch in the Indian market. As per the micro-site on Realme website, the upcoming Realme handset will feature a periscope camera. Realme hasn’t revealed the moniker of the upcoming handsets, but Flipkart micro-site for the upcoming launch reveals that its the Realme 12 series.
The Realme 12 series will arrive as the successor to the Realme 11 series which made its debut back in June 2023 in the Indian market. The teaser page for the Realme 12 series reveals the marketing tagline, that is ‘Beyond 200MP, Periscope Awaits‘. Let us take a closer look at the details known so far

Even though Realme hasn’t revealed the monikers of the device, Flipkart micro-site’s suggests it is the upcoming Realme 12 series, as the URL contains the string Realme 12 series teaser. More importantly, the Realme 12 series will mark the debut of the periscope lens on a number series handset from the brand.
Realme previously used a periscope lens on a mid-range smartphone, which was the Realme X3 SuperZoom, that launched in 2020. Realme’s teaser suggests that the brand plans to take on the Redmi Note 12 Pro series and Note 13 Pro series smartphones with its upcoming number series handsets. The teaser says Beyond 200MP, Periscope Awaits. To those unaware, Redmi launched its Redmi Note 13 Pro series with 200MP camera in the Indian market last week.

Realme has also announced an offer on the upcoming smartphone. Realme is expected to launch the Realme 12, Realme 12 Pro, and Realme 12 Pro+ under the next iteration of 12 series. The company might keep the Periscope lens exclusive to the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+. The Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ recently surfaced on TENAA certification website.
Leaks indicate that the Realme 12 Pro and the Realme 12 Pro+ will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC respectively. As per an earlier TENAA listing, these handsets will sport 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display panels with 120Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ (2412 × 1080 pixel) resolution.
The Realme 12 Pro+ is expected to feature a 64MP periscope lens with 3x optical zoom. Whereas, the Realme 12 Pro might feature a 32MP periscope camera with 2x zoom. Apart from it, these handsets will feature 50MP primary rear camera and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens.
