Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has confirmed to host a special event on August 3. The company will be hosting its new Redmi event in Beijing, where it is likely to announce the new Redmi K60 Ultra as its top-of-the-line Android flagship smartphone. The teaser poster also confirms that MediaTek and Pixelworks will be special guests at the Redmi event. Xiaomi has not revealed the exact details just yet. The wait should not be a long one as we are only a day away from the event date.

Meanwhile, thanks to the rumour mill, we can speculate a few details about what to expect from the upcoming Redmi event. Considering the event will be mainly focused on the Redmi K60 Ultra, we can expect more detailed information about the components from the houses of MediaTek and Pixelworks.

Well, it is rumoured that the Redmi K60 Ultra will feature a special display chip, which will aim at enhancing the overall performance of the phone. We can expect features like frame rate interpolation, MEMC and more to be available, courtesy of the collaboration between Pixelworks and Redmi. The device might also get other features like DC-Dimming, HDR support and colour-related features. The companies have not confirmed any details just yet. Therefore, we advise taking the speculated information with a pinch of salt.

The rumour mill has churned out quite a few details about the upcoming Redmi flagship phone. It is rumoured to launch globally as the Xiaomi 13T Pro.

There have been a few leaks about the phone’s hardware. The K60 Ultra, as mentioned above, will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC. The SoC will have a tri-cluster setup with the prime core clocking at 3.35 GHz. It will also feature three performance cores clocked at 3.0GHz. The base four cores will be clocked at 2.0GHz.

The variant of the K60 Ultra spotted on Geekbench had a whopping 16GB RAM. We can expect Xiaomi to launch the device with a 12GB RAM variant as well. Also, the phone might launch with 256GB and 512GB storage options. In addition to the above details, the K60 Ultra is likely to feature MIUI 14, which will be based on Android 13.

The device was also spotted on the 3C certification website, which confirmed that it will offer support for up to 120W fast charging out of the box. The K60 Ultra might pack a 5000mAh battery. On the back, the phone is likely to feature a triple-camera setup. It will likely feature a 200MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and possibly a macro or telephoto sensor.

On the front, there will be a tall 6.67-inch 2K AMOLED display with curved edges and a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. The phone is also likely to offer support for a 144Hz refresh rate.
