Samsung Galaxy S22 Received a Price Cut in India Following the Launch of the Galaxy S23 Series

Samsung recently launched the S23 series in India. The new Samsung Galaxy S23 series have a starting price of Rs 74,999 for the base model of the Galaxy S23. The S23 Plus and S23 Ultra are priced even higher at Rs 94,999 and Rs 1,24,999, respectively. The phones come with a few upgrades over the outgoing model. Like most smartphones, the launch of the Galaxy S23 series means that Samsung has slashed the price of the outgoing models. The Samsung Galaxy S22, which was last year’s entry-level flagship smartphone in the S22 lineup, has received a price cut.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Price in India

The Samsung Galaxy S22 5G is now more affordable than its official launch price following the launch of the S23 series in India. The device can be bought for Rs 57,999 as opposed to its launch price of Rs 72,999. For the price, users will get 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The 8GB RAM variant with 256GB storage has also received a price cut in India. It is available in India for Rs 61,999. The variant was launched last year for Rs 76,999.

For the discounted price, the Galaxy S22 series continues to offer great value. Except for the bigger battery and the upgraded Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, the Galaxy S22 series shares almost the same set of specifications as the S23 5G. 

The Galaxy S22 5G sports a 6.1-inch Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2x display. The screen is flat and sports a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. There is a 10MP front camera sensor for selfies. The phone’s display also offers 1300 nits of peak brightness and has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top for added protection against drops and scratches. As expected, the Galaxy S22 5G has support for a 120Hz refresh rate.

The phone has a glass back and a metal frame. It comes is available in Phantom Black, Phantom White, Phantom Green and Pink Gold colours. 

The device has a triple-camera setup on the back. There is a 50MP main camera sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide camera sensor and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, 30x Space Zoom.

The Galaxy S22 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC under the hood. There is a 3700mAh battery as well. The phone offers 25W fast charging support. However, there is no charger packed inside the box. The S22 5G also supports 15W wireless charging.
