LG today unveiled its 2025 range of OLED evo and QNED evo televisions in India, and while the line-up brings a host of premium upgrades, it's the role of AI that truly stands out. The company isn't just adding smart features—it's weaving intelligence into how users interact with the TV itself.
That became clear during a live demo at the event. A user spoke a simple greeting, and the TV instantly responded—not with a generic voice assistant prompt, but by switching to that person's profile. Their customised home screen appeared, recommendations updated, and even the sound settings subtly shifted to match their preferences. The switch was instant, and it didn't just stop at UI changes. The TV also adjusted audio and picture presets in the background, indicating that this profile recognition wasn't just cosmetic—it was functional.
At the heart of these capabilities is LG's new Alpha AI Processor Gen2, which powers much of the personalised experience across the 2025 line-up. The updated platform enables features like AI Welcome, which greets each user individually, and AI Concierge, which studies viewing behaviour over time to surface content that aligns with personal preferences, down to suggesting relevant keywords to help users refine their search.

We saw this in action when one of the presenters asked the TV for "movies with sinking ships." The system returned a shortlist that included Titanic at the top, followed by The Poseidon Adventure and All Is Lost. The suggestions weren't just thematically accurate—they also showed an understanding of intent, going beyond literal matches to offer content that fit the mood of the request. It's a small but telling sign that LG's voice search is becoming more contextual and conversation-friendly.
Another area LG focused on was how features like AI Picture Wizard and AI Sound Pro work in the background to personalise picture and audio settings. According to the company, these systems use a combination of user behaviour and ambient data to make adjustments automatically, reducing the need for manual calibration. While this wasn't something we could evaluate during the demo, it's a feature we'll be looking to explore further when we get the TV in for review.
Display and Audio Enhancements with AI Integration
Beyond personalisation, LG's new range also introduces several hardware-level improvements aimed at refining picture and sound quality. The OLED evo models now feature Brightness Booster Ultimate, which, according to LG, dynamically adjusts brightness to improve visibility in varying ambient lighting conditions. The Filmmaker Mode also sees an update, incorporating ambient light sensing to better preserve visual intent based on the room environment.
On the QNED evo side, the TVs include Mini LED backlighting paired with Dynamic QNED Colour technology, designed to enhance contrast and deliver more accurate colour reproduction. The AI processor continues to play a role here as well, adjusting picture quality at a zone level in real time.
For audio, the line-up supports virtual surround sound up to 11.1.2 channels, with the AI engine helping to separate vocals from background noise to improve dialogue clarity. These upgrades are aimed at delivering a more immersive experience, but as with the AI features, we'll be looking to assess their real-world impact once we spend more time with the TVs.
LG says this level of intelligence is no longer optional—it's the future of TV.
"With our 2025 OLEDevo and QNEDevo line-up, we are not just introducing new TVs, we are introducing smarter companions that understand our users, adapt to their preferences, and elevate their everyday experiences," said Brian Jung, Director – Media Entertainment Solution, LG Electronics India.
