Hisense has introduced a new contender in the value-for-money TV segment in India with its E6N UHD 4K 55-inch Smart TV. This model runs on Google TV and includes features like DTS Virtual X, Dolby Audio, Dolby Vision, and a dedicated gaming mode, all for just Rs 35,999. But does it live up to its impressive specifications, or is it just impressive on paper? After using the TV for a couple of weeks, here’s my review.

The latest E6N series from the company comes in three size options: 43-inches, 55-inches, and 65-inches. These TVs are available on Amazon and Flipkart. Here are its pricing details:

| 43-inch | Rs 24,999 |
| 55-inch | Rs 35,999 |
| 65-inch | Rs 51,499 |
Hisense E6N UHD 4K 55-inch Smart TV Review: Design and Build Quality
Hisense has kept the design of the E6N simple. It’s not overly flashy with silver or golden frames. The only colour you will see on this TV is black, which is a good thing. The bezels are minimal, giving it a modern yet minimal look. I also liked the small white light at the bottom of the TV, which adds a touch of premium to the device.
Besides, the TV is just 0.8 cm thick, making it a sleek addition to any room. In terms of build quality, it feels sturdy and well-constructed. The majority of the back is made of Metal, giving it a solid feel without being too heavy—I found it easy to lift.
| Design | Specs |
| Weight without stand | 10.9 kg |
| Weight with stand | 11 kg |
| Dimensions (W x H x D) | 1233×751×298 |
| Power input | 155W |
| Box contents | 1 TV Unit, 1 Remote, 2 Table Stand, 1 User Manual, 2 Batteries, 1 Warranty Card |
The TV comes with a two-piece table stand that’s simple to attach, and it also supports wall mounting. However, the mounting kit isn’t included in the box, Hisense provides installation services, and the technicians carry the necessary brackets.
| Ports | Quantity |
| HDMI | 3 |
| USB 2.0 | 2 |
| RJ45 | 1 |
| Earphone jack | 1 |
| Optical digital audio (SPDIF) | 1 |
| RF-Radio frequency input | 1 |
These ports are conveniently located on the side, making them easy to access. I had no trouble plugging in and removing USB drives without any hassle.
Hisense E6N UHD 4K 55-inch Smart TV Review: Display and Speaker Quality
The E6N features a DirectLED (DLED) panel, capable of delivering resolutions up to 4K (3840×2160) with a refresh rate of 60Hz. If you’re curious about DLED technology, it’s basically a traditional LED-backlit display but with a more evenly distributed array of LED lights. This setup gives the TV better control in the dimmable zones than conventional edge-lit panels, which rely on thin LED strips along the edges.
| Display | Specs |
| Size | 55-inch (140 cm) |
| Type | LED |
| Resolution | 3840X2160 |
| Refresh Rate | 60Hz |
| Response time | 9.5 ms |
| Aspect Ratio | 16:9 |
| Other Features | 4K AI Upscaler, HDR 10, VRR, AI Sports Mode, Game Mode Plus |
Now, let’s put all this technical jargon aside and talk about the actual experience of this panel. The E6N produces punchy and vibrant colours with rich details. I was impressed by this TV’s dynamic range. I watched movies like Maharaja and Vash, which had plenty of dark scenes, but the TV did not lose any details in the shadows, which is a big plus.
The E6N also supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision. I tested some 4K videos on YouTube that feature plenty of black and high-contrast scenes, often used in showrooms to highlight the capabilities of OLED TVs. While the E6N isn’t an OLED TV, it still manages to deliver deep blacks without any noticeable noise. Of course, the blacks aren’t as deep as those on OLED panels, but they’re still impressive, especially given the TV’s price point.
It offers 300 nits of brightness and a 5000:1 contrast ratio, which isn’t extraordinary on paper. But, I watched shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine in a room with two large windows during the day and had no trouble seeing the content. It maintained good colour accuracy, with vibrant oranges, greens, and sky blues even in daylight. Yes, if the TV is placed directly in front of a window, you might need to find a less reflective spot. Apart from that I have no complaints about its performance in bright conditions.
If you enjoy watching sports, the E6N won’t disappoint. I watched the javelin throw finals during the Olympics and saw no artefacts as Neeraj Chopra secured the silver medal. The TV also supports MEMC, which adds artificial frames to make the video appear smoother.
| Audio | Specs |
| Power Output | 8W |
| Speaker Type | Bottom firing speaker |
| Dolby Audio Support | Yes |
| DTS Virtual X | Yes |
The speakers on the E6N are surprisingly good. While the specs might not stand out, the bottom-firing speakers are more than adequate for watching movies or listening to music. The TV also features Auto Volume Control, which helps manage sudden volume changes in movies or shows. I tested this while watching Super Mario Bros. at night, and it did a great job of smoothing out sudden volume spikes.
However, there were a few instances where it lowered the volume during normal dialogue, but overall, it worked well enough to not be a concern. The TV also has DTS Virtual X mode enabled by default and supports Dolby Audio. And overall, I was quite satisfied with the audio experience on the E6N.
Hisense E6N UHD 4K 55-inch Smart TV Review: Features and Remote
During my time with the TV, I didn’t experience any lag or stuttering, which is quite impressive for a budget-friendly TV. If you’ve used a Google TV before, you’ll find the interface familiar. Most essential apps are easily accessible from the home screen.
| Hardware | Details |
| RAM | 2GB |
| Internal storage | 16GB |
| Operating system | Android TV OS 11 |
The included remote feels well-made and has all the necessary buttons. It includes buttons for voice commands, home, volume controls, and dedicated buttons for popular OTT apps like Netflix, SonyLIV, Disney+ Hotstar, and YouTube.
Hisense E6N UHD 4K 55-inch Smart TV Review: Verdict
If you currently have a 32-inch or 43-inch TV and are considering an upgrade to a budget-friendly 55-inch model, the Hisense E6N is an excellent choice. With its impressive picture and sound quality, along with the smooth software performance, it offers excellent value at Rs 35,999.
That said, the competition in this price range is quite intense. There are other options with similar specs and price points, such as the Thomson OP MAX, Kodak CA Pro, and Infinix W1, which we’ve also reviewed.
However, the Hisense E6N stands out thanks to its smooth performance and good picture quality. So, if you’re in the market for a new 55-inch TV, the Hisense E6N should definitely be on your list.
