LG Expands Commercial Laundry Business, Plans Professional Laundry Lineup for India in Early 2027

LG Electronics has announced a new Professional Laundry lineup for commercial customers as it looks to strengthen its business-to-business (B2B) appliance portfolio globally. The company says the new range will arrive in India during the fourth quarter of FY27 (January-March 2027), following its rollout in Europe and other international markets.

The announcement is less about launching another washing machine and more about LG’s broader strategy to expand beyond consumer appliances into commercial infrastructure, where hotels, hospitals, laundromats and industrial laundry operators are increasingly investing in connected, high-capacity solutions.

LG’s Commercial Appliance Strategy Gets Bigger

The Professional Laundry lineup targets commercial operations that require machines capable of handling continuous, high-volume workloads. LG says the portfolio includes large-capacity washers, dryers and washer-dryer combinations, while also integrating software tools for remote monitoring and fleet management.

This marks another step in the company’s push to build a larger B2B appliances business. Over the past few years, LG has steadily expanded beyond televisions and home appliances into commercial displays, HVAC systems, robotics and energy solutions. Commercial laundry now becomes another category where the company hopes to offer complete operational solutions rather than standalone hardware.

Focus Shifts From Hardware to Operational Efficiency

Instead of competing only on washing performance, LG is positioning the lineup around reducing operating costs for businesses.

According to the company, the machines incorporate AI Weight Detection to optimise water and energy usage based on load size, while Dual Inverter HeatPump technology is designed to improve drying efficiency. LG also says its Dynamic Ball-Core System helps minimise vibration during high-speed spin cycles, potentially reducing drying time and improving overall efficiency.

The lineup also supports the LG Laundry Crew app for remote monitoring and system management, while an Open API allows businesses to integrate the machines with their existing operational software through custom development.

How Commercial Laundry Fits Into LG’s Growth Strategy

Commercial laundry is becoming an increasingly technology-driven category, particularly across hospitality, healthcare and retail laundry services where energy costs, maintenance and machine uptime directly affect operating expenses.

Rather than introducing individual products, LG appears to be positioning itself as a long-term solutions provider for commercial customers. The India launch also suggests the company sees room to expand its B2B appliance business beyond its traditional strengths in televisions, home appliances and air-conditioning.

If LG follows this launch with additional commercial appliances and connected service offerings, it could gradually build a broader ecosystem aimed at enterprise customers rather than only the consumer market.
