Haier has expanded its washing machine portfolio in India with the F17, a 12kg front-load washer-dryer priced at Rs 75,990. Its standout addition is a tilting TFT touchscreen that can be set at 15, 20 or 25 degrees, making the controls easier to see and operate without requiring users to lean over the panel as much.
The F17 combines washing and drying in one appliance and includes AI Wash, Essence Wash, smart detergent dosing, 24 stain-removal modes, steam cleaning and Wi-Fi connectivity. Haier is positioning it as an upper-end laundry solution for homes that want capacity, automation and all-weather drying in a single machine.
Haier F17 Price and Availability in India
The Haier F17 washer-dryer is priced at Rs 75,990 and is available through retail outlets across India and the Haier India online store. The company is offering a four-year comprehensive warranty along with a 12-year warranty on the motor.
Haier has announced only a 12kg configuration and has not detailed any introductory bank or exchange offers.
A Tilting Display Designed to Reduce Bending
Haier calls the Smart Flip TFT panel India's only tilted touchscreen with AI Wash, a claim made by the company. The display offers three fixed viewing angles of 15, 20 and 25 degrees, allowing users to adjust the interface according to their height and position in front of the machine.
For a front-loader installed close to floor level, the adjustable panel is a practical usability change rather than a purely cosmetic one. It could make programme selection and cycle monitoring more comfortable for people of different heights. However, it does not alter the height of the drum, so users will still need to bend while loading and unloading clothes.
AI Wash, Smart Dosing and 24 Stain Modes
AI Wash analyses the fabric type, load weight and stain profile before recommending a suitable programme. Haier says the system can account for common stains such as milk, mud, coffee, sweat and oil.
A dedicated stain-removal function offers 24 modes and adjusts the wash parameters for the selected stain type. Smart Dosing determines the detergent quantity based on the load, while Essence Wash pre-mixes it into an active solution before spraying it on the fabrics.
Wash-and-Dry Convenience, Steam Cleaning and a 525mm Drum
The F17 handles washing and drying in a single appliance, which can be useful during monsoons, winters and humid weather. A dedicated dryer-selection window lets users choose a setting according to the fabric and load.
Haier has not disclosed the separate rated drying capacity, full wash-and-dry cycle duration, water consumption or BEE energy rating in the announcement. Buyers should confirm these details before making a purchase.
Steam Wash uses high-temperature steam to help reduce bacteria and mites within fabrics. The machine also gets Anti-Bacteria Treatment and a Dual Spray system that rinses the drum, door and gasket after a wash to reduce detergent residue and help limit mould build-up.
A 525mm Super Drum is designed to provide room for bulky loads while improving water flow and fabric movement. Haier has paired it with a beltless Direct Motion motor, which the company says lowers noise and vibration.
Built-in Wi-Fi allows users to monitor and control wash cycles remotely. However, the launch announcement does not name the companion app or list the complete set of remote functions.
NS Satish, CEO of Haier Appliances India, said the F17 was designed around the way consumers physically interact with a washing machine. He believes practical changes such as reducing the need to bend while using the controls could drive the next phase of premiumisation in home appliances.
