Xbox Game Pass is a boon for the majority of gamers who cannot afford to buy every other popular game out there, especially across different platforms. Microsoft keeps adding new games regularly to the catalog to keep it refreshing for subscribers. It has now announced Xbox Game Pass January 2024 games that will make their way to the service in the coming weeks. This month’s lineup is headlined by Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Capcom’s Resident Evil 2.

There are a total of eight new games and three DLC updates coming to the service in January 2024. All these games will be available across Xbox consoles, PCs, and cloud gaming services.

Microsoft is further offering ‘Sea of Thieves: Nightshine Parrot Pack’ to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. This pack contains the Nightshine Parrot Jacket, Nightshine Parrot Sails, Nightshine Parrot Figurehead, Nightshine Parrot Hat, Nightshine Parrot Cutlass, and 10,000 gold to spend in-game.

Here is a detailed look at Xbox Game Pass January 2024 games.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (January 9)

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was released by Ubisoft in 2020 as a successor to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. In the game, you get to play as the Vikings warrior and raider Eivor whose goal is to establish a Viking clan in England. It is an open-world game with a massive map that promises over 100 hours of gameplay. The main campaign itself is about 60 hours long.

Resident Evil 2 (January 16)

Resident Evil 2 is a survival horror game from Capcom’s popular Resident Evil franchise. Microsoft is offering the 2019 remake of the hit title originally released way back in 1998. You get to revisit Raccoon City suffering from a viral outbreak that has turned its citizens into zombies. You can play the game either as rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy or a college student Claire Redfield.

Other games coming to the lineup are:

  • Close to the Sun (already available)
  • Hell Let Loose (available from today)
  • Figment (January 9)
  • Super Mega Baseball 4 via EA Play (January 11)
  • We Happy Few (January 11)
  • Those Who Remain (January 16)

Microsoft has further announced three new DLCs/game updates for Xbox Game Pass members. These include Dead by Daylight: Chucky, Hello Neighbor 2 Anniversary Update, and Sea of Thieves Season 10. All three updates are already available for consoles, PCs, and cloud gaming users.

In the same post, the team has confirmed the exact dates for the games leaving Xbox Game Pass this month. The biggest name leaving the subscription service is Grand Theft Auto 5 aka GTA 5 on January 5. It will be joined by MotoGP 22, Persona 4 Golden, Persona 3 Portable, and Garden Story on January 15.
