Infinix has teased its upcoming NOTE 60 Pro ahead of launch, with early details focusing on design and a new LED-based interaction system. The device appears to centre around visual differentiation, something that has been largely missing in this segment.
The key highlight is what Infinix calls an Active Matrix LED system, built into the rear camera module. It uses 288 small LEDs to display notifications, charging status, and other alerts directly on the back of the phone.
On paper, the idea is straightforward. It lets users check basic information like calls, messages, or battery status without turning on the main display. There is also a layer of customisation, including lighting effects, small animations, and even simple interactive elements like mini games.
This is not an entirely new concept. We have seen brands experiment with notification lighting and secondary displays before. The difference here is the pixel-level control and the attempt to make it more interactive.
Whether it actually adds value is a separate question. For some users, it could be a quick and useful glance feature. For others, it may end up being something they use occasionally and then ignore. It depends heavily on how well Infinix integrates it into everyday usage.
Design And Build
Infinix is also putting a lot of emphasis on materials this time. The NOTE 60 Pro features an aluminium frame, which should improve rigidity and give the phone a more solid in-hand feel.
The design itself leans toward a clean, minimalist approach, with a prominent camera module that doubles as the LED interface.
What This Means
The NOTE 60 Pro looks like an attempt to stand out through design and interaction rather than just specs. The LED system is clearly the centrepiece, but it sits in a space between utility and novelty.
If it works well, it could add a small but meaningful layer of convenience. If not, it risks being seen as a feature that looks interesting in demos but does not change day-to-day usage much.
Either way, it is a different direction, and that alone makes it worth paying attention to.
Expected Price And Positioning
While Infinix has not revealed pricing yet, the NOTE series typically sits in the mid-range segment. Based on current positioning and features, the NOTE 60 Pro is likely to be priced somewhere between Rs. 18,000 and Rs. 25,000.
That range is important because it is where brands usually compete heavily on specs like performance and battery. Infinix, however, seems to be taking a slightly different route this time. This approach could help it carve out a distinct identity in a crowded segment, especially among users who want something that feels a bit different from standard mid-range smartphones.
