Motorola has officially launched the new Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ in India, the most premium smartphone in the Edge 70 lineup so far. The device joins the existing Motorola Edge 70, Edge 70 Fusion, and Edge 70 Pro but comes with a handful of notable upgrades over the standard Pro variant, especially on the camera side of things.
The biggest highlight here is the inclusion of a dedicated periscope telephoto lens, something the Edge 70 Pro missed out on, despite being pitched as a premium camera-focused phone. The Edge 70 Pro+ is the first "Pro+" model in the Edge series as well, taking Motorola further into the premium mid-range smartphone segment with a price tag above Rs 45,000.
Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Price in India, Availability
Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ is priced at Rs 47,999 for the single 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The smartphone will come in three Pantone-inspired finishes: Chicory Coffee, Zinfandel, and Stormy Sea.
The first sale will be held on June 11 at 12 PM via Flipkart, Motorola India’s official website, and offline stores. Motorola is also providing Rs 3,000 bank cashback in addition to the exchange bonuses and EMI options.
Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Specifications and Features
The Edge 70 Pro+ features a 6.8-inch 1.5K Extreme AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR support, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and an amazing 5,200 nits peak brightness. On paper, this should make for a very vibrant viewing experience for gaming, streaming, and outdoor visibility.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The same processor is already present in the Edge 70 Pro and has performed well in gaming and day-to-day performance. Motorola has also added a large 4600mm2 vapour chamber cooling system for better thermal management during heavy workloads.
The cameras are the focus here, and it's pretty clear. The Edge 70 Pro+ sports a triple 50MP rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP Sony LYT-710 primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus support, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3.5x optical zoom. Motorola is also touting up to 50x AI-powered Super Zoom Pro support.
On the front, there is a 50MP selfie shooter with autofocus support. It can capture 4K HDR video at 60fps from all cameras, plus features AI-assisted low-light photography and auto macro.
The smartphone is packed with a big 6500mAh battery with 90W wired and 15W wireless charging support. Wireless charging is still a rarity in this segment, and this gives Motorola an edge over some rivals.
On the software front, the phone ships with Android 16 out of the box. Motorola promises 3 years of Android OS upgrades and 5 years of security updates. The company is still offering a near-stock Android experience with Moto AI features that are focused on productivity and personalization.
Other features include IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability certification, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio, and Spatial Audio support.
Should you buy the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+?
It is too soon to pass final judgment on the device as it has not yet been reviewed. The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ does look like a well-rounded premium mid-ranger on paper, with impressive cameras, a big battery, flagship-like features, and a clean software experience in a sleek and stylish body.
