OnePlus has introduced the OnePlus Nord 6 in India, expanding its Nord lineup that focuses on delivering flagship-inspired features at more accessible price points. The new model is aimed at users who game, create, and multitask on the go, with highlights including 165 FPS gaming support, a 9000mAh SiCarbon battery, and a suite of AI-driven features.
Performance and Gaming
The Nord 6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 platform, enabling what the company claims is segment-first 165 FPS gameplay in titles like BGMI, CODM, and Free Fire MAX. OnePlus says the chipset delivers up to 136% higher CPU performance, up to 64% higher GPU output, and 25% better AI benchmark scores compared to the Motorola Edge 60 Pro, with an AnTuTu score of 2,503,854 versus 1,440,382.
The EdgeTech gaming suite includes a 3200Hz touch sampling rate, enhanced spatial audio, and a 6-axis gyroscope for more precise motion control. Combined with high refresh rate output, the device is positioned clearly toward competitive mobile gamers.
Connectivity and Display
Connectivity is handled by a G2 Wi-Fi chip and 5G-Advanced support. OnePlus claims this setup can deliver up to three times faster peak speeds in collaboration with partners like Reliance Jio, targeting lower latency during gaming and streaming.
The device features a 165Hz 1.5K AMOLED "Sunburst HDR" display, similar to what the company uses in its flagship lineup. It offers 1800 nits HBM and up to 3600 nits HDR peak brightness. Additional features include 3840 Hz PWM dimming, a 2-nit minimum brightness level, and Aqua Touch 2.0 for improved touch response in wet conditions.
Battery and Charging
A major highlight is the 9000mAh SiCarbon battery, which OnePlus calls the largest in its segment while maintaining a relatively slim profile. The company claims over 2.5 days of moderate usage, including up to 11.1 hours of BGMI, 16.6 hours of navigation, or 26.9 hours of video playback.
The Nord 6 supports 80W SUPERVOOC charging, with a full charge taking around 70 minutes. A 5-minute charge is claimed to provide up to 2.5 hours of video playback or 1 hour of gaming. It also supports intelligent bypass charging and 27W wired reverse charging.
Cameras and AI Features
The phone features a 50MP Sony primary sensor with dual-axis OIS and a 32MP front camera. OnePlus says the camera system benefits from its flagship HDR and colour tuning for more balanced output.
Video recording goes up to 4K at 60 FPS. A new 4K Motion Photo Clipper feature allows users to capture short clips and extract full-resolution stills, which can be enhanced to 4K using AI.
AI tools include AI Portrait Glow, AI Eraser, AI Unblur, AI Perfect Shot, AI Reflection Remover, AI Reframe, and AI Detail Boost, enabling on-device editing and image enhancement.
System-wide AI and Software
AI Mind Space acts as a central hub for saved content, accessible via a dedicated Plus Key or gestures. Integration with Google Gemini allows contextual suggestions based on stored data, including travel planning and reminders.
The Nord 6 runs OxygenOS 16 and includes features like real-time AI translation, AI Writer, and AI Scanner. OnePlus has committed to four major Android updates and six years of security patches.
Design, Durability, and Accessories
The device follows a minimalist design language and is available in Quick Silver, Fresh Mint, and Pitch Black. It carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, along with Crystal Guard Glass and MIL-STD-810H certification.
Accessories include a Sandstone Magnetic Case and a 100W SUPERVOOC dual-port GaN charger with support for multiple fast-charging standards.
Price and Availability
The OnePlus Nord 6 is priced at INR 38,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant and INR 41,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model. It goes on open sale from April 9, 2026, at 12 noon IST via Amazon, OnePlus online channels, and retail partners.
Bank offers include an INR 3,000 instant discount on select Axis Bank and HDFC Bank credit card EMI transactions, along with up to six months of no-cost EMI.
Final Thoughts
On paper, the Nord 6 leans heavily into three areas that currently define the upper mid-range segment in India: gaming performance, battery scale, and on-device AI. The combination of a high-end Snapdragon platform and a 9000mAh battery is unusual at this price point, at least based on current market trends.
At the same time, competition in this segment remains aggressive, with devices from brands like iQOO and Realme typically emphasising raw performance, while others emphasise camera or design differentiation.
If OnePlus' claims around sustained performance, battery endurance, and AI usability hold up in real-world use, the Nord 6 could position itself as one of the more balanced options in the INR 35,000 to 40,000 range, especially for users prioritising gaming and longevity. We are in the process of testing this smartphone and will publish our review soon, so stay tuned to MySmartPrice for it.
