Realme Narzo 90 series with 7,000mAh battery and 60W fast charging launched in India

Realme just added some serious firepower to its mid-range lineup in India with the launch of the Narzo 90 series. The company introduced the Narzo 90 5G and its budget-friendly sibling, the Narzo 90x 5G. As expected, Realme is sticking to its playbook: aggressive specs at prices that undercut the competition, specifically targeting younger buyers who live on their phones.

The headline feature here is undeniable: endurance. Both phones are packing a massive 7,000mAh battery paired with 60W fast charging. That is a rare combo in this price bracket. It's pretty clear Realme is going after gamers and binge-watchers who want a phone that can survive a full day of heavy use without needing to hunt for a wall outlet by 4 PM.

Pricing and positioning in India

If you are looking to pick one up, the Narzo 90 5G starts at Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB/128GB version, with the 8GB RAM model coming in at Rs. 18,499. The Narzo 90x 5G is even cheaper, kicking off at Rs. 13,999 (6GB/128GB) and topping out at Rs. 15,499. Sales start on December 24 over at Amazon and Realme's own site.

Realme is also keeping things loud with the colours. The Narzo 90 comes in Victory Gold and Carbon Black, while the 90x gets Nitro Blue and Flash Blue. It's definitely a look aimed at a crowd that wants their tech to stand out.

Display, performance, and everyday use

This is where the two phones split paths. The Narzo 90 5G gets the better visual treat with a 6.57-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED screen running at 120Hz. If you care about deep blacks and punchy colours for movies, this is the one to get. Oddly enough, the cheaper Narzo 90x 5G actually has a larger 6.80-inch LCD and a faster 144Hz refresh rate, but it trades off resolution and colour richness to get there.

Under the hood, the Narzo 90 runs on the Dimensity 6400 Max, while the 90x uses the Dimensity 6300. Both are decent 6nm chips that will handle daily scrolling, social media, and casual gaming without breaking a sweat, though the Narzo 90 will feel slightly snappier if you push it hard.

Cameras, durability, and software support

The camera setups are practical but have one major difference. Both rock a 50MP main sensor, but the Narzo 90 5G destroys its sibling in the selfie department with a 50MP front camera, compared to the basic 8MP shooter on the 90x.

The wildest spec, however, is the durability. The Narzo 90 5G boasts IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings. Seeing that level of water and dust resistance on a sub-20k phone is almost unheard of. The 90x isn’t quite as tough but still offers IP65 protection.

Both phones ship with Android 15 and Realme UI 6.0, so you are starting with the latest software. Ideally, the choice comes down to what you value more: the AMOLED screen and durability of the 90, or the sheer value and battery life of the 90x.
