Xiaomi Pad 8 Goes on Sale: A Practical Laptop Alternative or Just Another Tablet?

Xiaomi has announced that the Xiaomi Pad 8 is now available for purchase in India, starting March 17. The tablet is positioned as a productivity-focused device with support for multitasking, stylus input, and keyboard accessories.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and runs on HyperOS 3. It also features LPDDR5T RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. According to the company, the new chipset delivers improved CPU and GPU performance compared to previous generations.

On the software front, the tablet includes features such as split-screen multitasking and a Workstation Mode designed for handling multiple apps more efficiently. It also supports PC-like browser features, including right-click functionality and hover interactions, aimed at improving web-based workflows.

The device packs a 9200mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging, with a 67W charger included in the box.

Xiaomi is also offering accessories such as the Focus Pen Pro with over 16,000 pressure levels and <1ms ultra-low latency, along with keyboard options for a more laptop-like experience.

Price in India and Offers

The Xiaomi Pad 8 is priced at ₹33,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant. The 12GB + 256GB model is priced at ₹36,999, while the Nano Texture version costs ₹38,999.

The Creator’s Edition, which includes the Focus Pen Pro, is priced at ₹41,999 for the standard display and ₹43,999 for the Nano Texture variant.

As part of launch offers, buyers can get an instant ₹3,000 discount on SBI credit card EMI transactions (₹2,750 on full swipe), bringing the effective starting price down to ₹30,999. The offer is valid until March 31, 2026.

Customers purchasing the tablet during this period will also receive a one-year additional warranty (excluding battery).
