Over 2 Lakh iPhone 12 Units Sold During Big Billion Days Sale, Flipkart Shares More Metrics From the Ongoing Sale

Apple iPhone 12 price in India dropped significantly during the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale. During the annual sale, Apple’s 2020 iPhone was available at a starting price of Rs 37,999 on the Walmart-owned e-commerce platform. The standard iPhone 12, on the other hand, was available for Rs 48,999. The price cut was quite significant as the iPhone 12 mini and the vanilla model were available for Rs 59,900 and Rs 65,900 prior to the Big Billion Days sale. Flipkart stated that over two lakh units of the iPhone 12 series were sold in one day during the Big Billion Days sale.

The e-commerce giant stated that the 12 mini and the standard iPhone 12 are currently the favourite smartphone models of customers of The Big Billion Days sale. Customers ordered over two lakh units of the 2020 iPhone models during the first day of the sale on October 3, reported India Today Tech, citing Flipkart’s note.

Flipkart further stated that one in five customers exchanged their smartphones for a new one during the sale. Also, 82.6% of customers made prepaid transactions for their purchases. The company also witnessed significant participation of Flipkart Plus customers during the sale, with over 40 percent more buyers during the sale compared to last year. In addition, the anticipation of the sale was evident from the 2 million-plus customers who pre-booked close to 5 million products just prior to Early Access by paying Re 1.

Also, smart TVs were found to be the largest-selling category in the large appliances and electronics category. Laptop, on the other hand, was the most popular category in electronics.

Customers preferred making payments via their credit cards for purchases during the sale. Flipkart’s Pay Later option was the second-highest mode of transaction among all payment modes. It even managed to exceed UPI-based transactions during the sale.
