Vivo has unveiled its in-house BlueImage branding for imaging innovations and solutions. The Vivo X100 Ultra, which is expected to launch in China soon could be the company’s first handset with BlueImage branding. Here are the details.

Vivo’s BlueImage
Vivo says BlueImage is expected to develop software and hardware solutions. It might include the development of the company’s upcoming V-series imaging chipsets. For those unaware, the V1 imaging chip was introduced with the Vivo X70 in 2021, followed by the V2 imaging chip. The company currently uses a V3 imaging chip on the Vivo X100 series handsets.
While details on the new BlueImage tech will be revealed soon, it is expected to focus on user needs and will offer ‘clear backlighting, no “distortion” in group photos, low-light night vision, dark-light telephoto, handheld starry sky, and more.‘
Vivo has also renewed its strategic partnership with Zeiss before the Vivo X100 Ultra launch. So, both companies will continue to co-develop lenses for the X-series smartphones. The Vivo X100 Ultra is expected to be the ultimate camera flagship from the brand. A company executive recently said that the Vivo X100 will be ‘a professional camera with calling support.’
Vivo X100 Ultra: Expected Specs, Features
The Vivo X100 Ultra is rumoured to feature a 50MP Sony LYT 900 camera with a 1/0.98-inch sensor size. The smartphone is said to incorporate a 200MP periscope lens with 100mm focal length and a 4.3x optical zoom. It is also expected to offer a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 50MP telephoto lens.
The Vivo X100 Ultra could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It is said to offer a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The handset might support a 5,400mAh battery with 100W fast charging support and 50W wireless charging support. It will most likely run Android 14.
