Hisense Enters India’s AC Market with Intelli Cool Pro Series as Heatwave Demand Reshapes Appliance Sales

Hisense has entered India's residential air conditioner market with the launch of its Intelli Cool Pro Series, marking the company's first major push into a category that is witnessing accelerating demand amid rising summer temperatures across the country.

While the brand has built visibility in India primarily through televisions, the launch signals Hisense's intention to expand into the broader home appliance ecosystem. The move also comes shortly after the company inaugurated its manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, suggesting a longer-term plan to localise production and deepen its presence in India's rapidly growing appliance market.

The timing is significant. India's air conditioner market has been witnessing early-season demand spikes in recent years, driven by more frequent heatwaves and expanding urban adoption. Retailers across several cities have already reported stronger enquiries for ACs this season, with consumers advancing purchases to avoid peak summer shortages and price increases.

Faster cooling and inverter-driven performance

The Intelli Cool Pro Series is built around Hisense's QSD Rapid Inverter Technology, which the company says is designed to help the compressor ramp up cooling performance quickly after the unit is switched on.

The focus on faster temperature pull-down reflects a broader trend in the AC market, where brands are increasingly emphasising quicker cooling performance as a differentiator, particularly in regions where indoor temperatures can rise sharply during summer afternoons.

The system also includes an AI Smart Mode that automatically adjusts cooling output depending on room conditions and usage patterns. The feature aims to maintain stable temperatures without requiring constant manual adjustments, while also balancing power consumption over longer usage cycles.

Smart connectivity becomes a standard expectation

Alongside cooling performance, Hisense is also positioning the Intelli Cool Pro Series as a connected appliance.

The air conditioners come with built-in Wi-Fi through the company's ConnectLife platform, allowing users to control and monitor the unit remotely through a smartphone. The system also supports voice commands in both English and Hindi and allows users to schedule cooling cycles or adjust temperatures even when they are away from home.

Smart connectivity has increasingly become a baseline expectation for many new AC buyers in urban markets, as households gradually integrate appliances into broader smart home ecosystems.

Air quality and comfort features

Beyond cooling performance, the Intelli Cool Pro Series includes features aimed at improving indoor air quality and everyday comfort.

The air conditioner incorporates a four-in-one filtration system designed to capture fine particulate matter and improve indoor air circulation. It also includes a self-clean function intended to remove moisture and dust buildup within the internal components of the unit.

The system is designed to deliver uniform airflow across different room sizes, supported by multi-directional air swing and long-distance airflow. Additional comfort features include multiple sleep modes for night-time operation and a quiet mode aimed at reducing noise levels during operation.

From an environmental perspective, the Intelli Cool Pro Series uses R32 refrigerant, which has a lower global warming potential compared to older refrigerants traditionally used in air conditioners. This is what is present in all ACs currently available in India.

Hisense expands its appliance strategy in India

The AC launch is also part of a broader effort by Hisense to expand its appliance portfolio in India. Alongside the Intelli Cool Pro Series, the company has introduced additional ranges including the Intelli Cool Series and the Eco Cool Series.

As India's AC market continues to grow beyond metro cities into tier-two and tier-three markets, global appliance brands are increasingly looking to strengthen their presence through expanded product portfolios, retail partnerships and local manufacturing.

Price and availability

The Intelli Cool Pro Series is currently available in a 3-star 1.5-ton configuration and will be sold through e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart, as well as offline retail partners including Reliance, Satya, Nandilath, Great Eastern and Patra Electronics.

The starting price for the model is Rs 28,990 and the company is offering a five-year comprehensive warranty.
